Here we have a drive to get as many coats for kids as we can. I feel the cold so badly that this drive really touches me. It breaks my heart that any child has to go coatless in the winter. If I could I'd give enough for each child. But all I cangive is one, when my children were growing I gave their coats away each year but I was working then. We give food and blankets as often as we can, but the kids really touch me.

Wow this is neat. I would be really h appy to have helped this drive if I oculd. Winter is the least of my favorite seasons. I never went coatless but at tiems I'd forget my sweater or somethign while I was playing outside if I got hot for once and I'd have to wait til I got back to the school to get my clothes back! I remember those cold cold mornings.

I walked about six blocks to school. We did not have a lot of snow, but sometimes we did. Another thing that would happen would be that the day would start warm, then we would have had a "norther" blow in that dropped the temperatures and we might have gone to school with no coat, and in a dress instead of long pants. It made for sore hands and a really chilled little girl when I would get home. I would drink coffee/milk and stand by the furnace.

Oh my goodness yeah I would not like this at all. I feel your pain and I'm sure all of your body was cold especially in a dress! We always dressed pretty warm because we knew the winters here are not generous at all.

I do also felt in pain seeing child coatless on the street, because i can feel how hard they are going through as they go on with life.. Instead of going to school, you'll see them regularly begging just to survive their daily lifes struggles along the street. And when i see people shown their concerns to street children touches me more, which serves as inspiration to us that in their humble way, many unaware peoples hearts are awakened how to give & share.

Kids touch my heart too. I tell you what else really bothers me. Retirement aged people that still have to work hard. Not the people that want to, but the ones that have to. I hate that. Them being taken advantage of or being mistreated burns me up too.

The thing that touches me the most is knowing that there are children that aren't able to celebrate the holidays because of the fact that their families are just not able to afford Christmas presents and such. So, I try to always adopt a child for Christmas and buy some gifts for them that will really make their day on Christmas morning. Another thing that touches me is my daughter. I told her just this evening that when I was growing up my parents always told me that there were children starving in Africa. However, the truth is that there are children in our community that are starving and she wanted to know where they were so that we could take some food to them.

Hi, you are very kind and nice person. You become sad when you see the sad people. You are doing good deed by giving food and blankets to the people who are need. We also try to help the people who are in need. We try to help the poor students who are willing to take the education but can't afford it. When we help others God also help us.

I am touched by charities for children, and want to help. I am also touched by a personal thing I started doing about a year ago. I am a platelet donor. For various reasons that means more to me than giving whole blood or red cells, and I have done both of those. I can still give whole blood if I choose. However, the first time I gave platelets the hospital that used my platelets said that my donation was such a great help to a particular cancer patient that they hoped I would continue to give. . . the donation center had never been told that before. I could not do anything to help my sister when she was a cancer patient, but I can do this for others now.

Hello friend, In our area we also have a drive each fall to provide coats for homeless people and anyone who needs a coat including children. However, I have heard of a new program which provides new, clean underwear for children. Never thought about it, but I imagine that can be a problem for children under many circumstances. I can only imagine how horrible it is for a child not to have a coat or underwear and be grateful for the fact I never have had that as a problem. My mother was a seamstress and made almost all the coats I had when I was growing up but I do know how hard it was at times to buy new underwear that fit when I was growing rapidly. How wonderful it is to live in a country where we can have organizations that provide things that many people would never be able to purchase on their own and people like you and I can contribute to charities that help those who have difficulties providing basic necessities. I am so grateful to have all my needs met, not always like I would like, but they are met. Thanks for the discussion!

Whenever I can assist someone in need it touches my heart , I like when I talk to some people and that was all they need , someone to listen . I talk to a old woman that was living alone and she was so happy , I made her day because no one really talk to her and all her children are against her .

I think that it is wonderful that you take the time to help somebody who isn't as fortunate as you at this time of year. It is so cold so it is wonderful that you are trying to help some other people. One of the things that I like to do is to be able to spend time helping the elderly people by doing things such as take them soup when it is very cold, as I feel that this is one of the few things that I am able to do which would be able to help them, when they don't have any other family who could help them at this time.

Simple gestures like that really touches a lot of hearts, ditto. When i see those kind of people who help more than i can offer, it is really touching scene. Being kindhearted and enjoying doing something for others is really a feat for those who love humanity. Just keep on doing what touches your heart, and your heart would surely be filled with love.

I also have got a soft heart when it comes to children. I am not capable of hurting a child nor watch a child suffer. I remember last year when I went to Kenya and saw homeless kids on the street begging how it broke my heart. Although I was warned by not to give them money because it could be dangerous for me as a foreigner, I gave them. On New Year's Eve I gave a white Rose to a little boy begging on the street and I could see how happy this little gesture made him. It made me very happy to see the expression on his face.

The most that touches my heart is my wife's painful moments. She was in constant pain because of her illness and hurts my heart so bad. I love her and so every pain she feels deeply touches my heart.
