What is the best thing that your computer can do?

One of the things that I have been writing about recently are the things that we can do on our computers that we were always having to do another way in the past. I have given it a lot of thought, and I have decided that the best thing that I am able to do with mine is to make a little bit of money. Other things that I have thought about are:
-Talk to friends
-Listen to music
-Download movies and music
-Get news
-Find information
-Listen to the radio or watch television
-Shopping
All of the above things are the things that I mainly use my computer for. What about you? What are the things that you use your computer for? Do you think that life would be better or worse if we didn't have computers?

There are two different things that I would say are the best things that my computer can do. The first thing that I think is one of the best things that my computer can do is that I am able to make a little bit of money because of the time that I spend on the computer.
The second thing that I consider to be one of the best things that my computer can do is that I can use the computer to make interesting pages illustrating and telling stories from my children's lives.

I love being able to make money on the internet, and I honestly believe that this is the way that many people are going to be making money in the future because of the fact that there aren't so many jobs out there, and the internet is very easy for other people to get at. Being able to tell stories about your children is wonderful, and I know that this is something that I am able to do as well. I can tell stories about my nephews to other members of the family who might live too far away to be able to come and visit them all of the time.

All the examples that you have listed are things that we could previously do, although to be fair you did admit that the only difference was to make the process easier.
There are many things that I use my computer for that I was unable to do without one, such as creating my own greetings cards and editing videos etcetera. The advent of the personal computer has undoubtedly had a profound effect on the lifestyle of millions of individuals.

Well you say that we could already do all of the things that I mentioned, but we could also make greetings cards before it's just that we had to physically make them by hand and touch the paper when we were making them. I think that the main thing about the computer is that it is supposed to make things easier for us, and I believe that the people who made the first laptop computer are amazing because they have actually changed people's lives for the better, and that is something that not everybody is able to say.

I have never even thought about the things that a computer can do that don't require an internet connection, but you're right when you say that you can do an awful lot of things with images as well. In fact, now that I come to think about it, my brother does a lot of editing of photos. He is doing an art A Level so that means that this is something that he has to do quite a lot. I don't think that he would have been able to get grades even nearly as good if he didn't have a computer to help him do all of his work.

Way back when we don't have computers yet,it seems life is dull and even slows down the day and technology unlike we had now. There are many things a computers can do in our lives.
The best thing that I can consider my computer has done for me,help me widen up my business and everything runs very smoothly when computers had been developed.Especially these days that computers has been a great tools not only the daily things we are doing in our computers but still they help us earn and widen the knowledge we had.
Computers nowadays has been gone forward unlike the old days.They speed up a lot in their development and so its easy for us to manage our business.

When I look back at the things that I would have done before I got my computer, I think that it does look quite dull. But it didn't feel that way at the time because I just didn't know any better. The speed of computers have improved a lot as well, as I can remember when I first got an internet connection at home. We couldn't use it at the same time as we were using the phone, and it took several minutes to load up one web page. Whenever I am on a computer that is that slow now I just can't cope with it at all.

Aside from those you have mentioned, I also use my computer in sending text messages to my friends. This saves me a few peso.

I have tried sending text messages on my computer and I agree that it is a good way to be able to save a little bit of money. I would have done this when I was in my teenage years though because of the fact that I didn't have enough money to add anything to my phone. Now that I have a contract, I get unlimited text messages with that so it means that I never actually run out of money to text people with. But being able to stay in touch with your friends is amazing, and it is something that people take for granted these days.

good point indeed. I use laptop for the following:
1) receiving email , sending emails
2) mylot
3) Word - writing papers and sending them as attachment thro email.
4) watching movies in youtube and other websites
5) reading newspapers online.

I think that sending emails is something that a lot of people take for granted these days. But if you look back to the past, and the amount of time and effort it took to send a letter, it is actually shocking at the amount of difference that there is in it. Now, the only thing that you have to do is to look at a screen for a couple of minutes and you are then in contact with the person who you wish to be. Being able to read newspapers is excellent as well because it means that you don't have to pay for the paper copy.

Well my computers make me money. As I own an intenet cafe. i rent them out for 1/2 hrs and one hour at a time. i get 15-25 clients per day here.

It's great that you're able to make money by renting your computers out. I know that this is something that wouldn't make much money in my home town, because people can rent out computers in the library for free, and they also get cheap drinks there as well. I would love to be able to own my own business, because I think that this is the only way that I would be able to make a lot of money in the modern world because of the fact that not many companies are allowing new workers because they can't afford them.

The thing I like the most its talk with my girlfriend with skype. We can do it everytime we want and free. That´s perfect, and it does with the computer :P

One of the things that I think have been helped by computers in the modern is long distance relationships. It means that you don't have to worry about not actually seeing each other, because you can get in touch with them via the internet whenever you wish to. It means that not as many people are upset by the fact that they are not able to see each other, because it feels as though they're actually in touch most of the time via the internet. It just goes to show all of the amazing things that are now possible.
