Perth water tastes horrible - what is your tap water like?

Hi MyLotters! I swear, the water here in Perth is getting worse. The taste is disgusting when compared with bottled water. Even cheap bottled water tastes better! There is just way too much chlorine and other nasty chemicals present in the water, you can actually smell it - YUCK! I have purchased a water filter to try and get some of those nasty things out ;) What is the water like in your city/town? Has it gotten better or worse over the years? Do you filter your water? Thanks!

The water from our tap looks clean and we usually drink it after it is boiled. We don't drink it directly from the tap. We have bottled water, but we prefer tap water. We use tap water for cooking and washing as well. We don't filter it as it is up to our standard. Enjoy your life.

Hi williamjisir, thanks for your reply ;) we have bottled water but I prefer tap water, probably because of the convenience ;) that's great that you don't have to boil it if you don't want to and that it's up to standard. Have a great day!

As city water goes the water here isn't too bad. Granted I've been exposed to some really disgusting and nasty tap water in the past. We do run it through a Brita for the kids and my wife. Some of us do drink it straight from the tap. It really isn't all that bad.

Hi koopharper, thanks for your reply :) We have a Brita type jug at the moment however I am seriously thinking of upgrading to a proper water cooler/filter who-jar thingo that is normally seen in offices - sorry couldn't think of what their proper name is lol That is great that you are still able to drink the water from the tap if needed ;)

Well they do say there is nothing like New York City water and I have to agree. I love the water here. I would love to bottle it and sell it to other countries. Nice!!! I hardly ever drink bottled water. I love my tap water.

The water here is disgusting, I wont drink nor give it to my animals either. We have fliters on all the tapes, and it doesnt help. Since the Walkerton issue, here with the guys who got drunk and weren't testing the water properly it went down hill since then. I believe that issue killed a few people and made a lot sick only due to someone error or lack of ablity now they pour chemicals in like no tomorrow. I buy all bottled water, and yet we continue to pay high amounts for our water bill.

First of all thank you for sharing this. In our area the tap is not so good or not so bad, means for few days in the begining of the fresh month, the water will be filled with chemicals like chlorine. It tastes awful and smells yuck.So we are having water filter which makes water chemical, taste and menus free...Good luck.
