Maintance men!!!

The college I work at we have 7 maintence men. Most of them don't know how to do their job,do half azz jobs,are lazy or ignore a job completely!! Example: In the dishroom we need work on the hose. The sprays needs to be put back on and we don't have tools in the kitchen to fix it! We sent in a work order last week and it still is not fixed! So we can't use it to spray down the floor or rinse out the dishmachine! There are 7 guys who could fix it. They won't fix it because the one who has fixed it is on vacation! None of the other guys want to do it! So we will have an unfixed hose until next week! 
Talk about stupid! I am sure there are other places who have maintance like were I work!

Maintenance can be a real horror. We are lucky where I live. If we have a problem that needs fixing we call maintenance, they write up a ticket and it is done within the week. Seven guys and only the one can do the job. Can't you talk to their manager or someone?

On monday my boss finally talked to the head of maintence and he came in fixed the hose this morning. I can't believe maintence is like they are! Alot of times if something needs fixing,like the dishmachine,we have to get a contractor in to fix it! Same with some of the other kitchen equipment! The maintence people should be hired with skills they need to fix things but aren't! Why only one can fix the hose I am not sure why but it is stupid!

Glad to hear it got fixed. Sometimes only certain maintencance people can fix products. If they are fixed by someone else they won't continue to fall under warantee. Also, the school may have hired just average maintenance people to do the main maintenance and then they call in contracters for the other stuff when it needs repair. It does make the main maintenance people look stupid but it has to be done that way.

Not a good way to run a business for sure! I am surprised that there is no one higher up than they are that over-sees these things. The complex that I live in has only 2 maintanence guys and it is a huge place. When we place a work order on something that needs doing in our apartments, they are right on it within 24 hours. They work their tails off and are always cheerful and friendly.

Most of the maintence men at the college are crappy! They act like they don't want to work! I also don't get why only one guy can fix a hose and nobody else can! Maintence is probaly the most dysfunctional department on campus! When we need something fixed a work order has to be put in. We either call the maintence dispatcher or e-mail her. Well my boss finally got pissed off enough he got hold of the guy who is head of maintence. He came and fixed the hose this monring! It only took a week to fix it!
