Goals For Starting Discussions

Do you set goals for your participation on MyLot? For example, do you have a goal for how many discussions you will start here each day? Or do you have a goal about the type of quality of the discussions you start or that you respond to? Knowing that sometimes discussions can be deleted for not being in line with MyLot guidelines, do you make sure that your goals include not participating in those types of discussions so that the time you put into responding isn't wasted only to have those discussions deleted? Today I have set a goal upon myself to start a minimum of 5 discussions here and to be more careful about which discussions I choose to respond to. In the past week I have responded to two discussions that were ultimately deleted so it ended up being a waste of time for me to have even responded to them. In all honesty I would never have come to MyLot were it not for the potential of earning a little extra money for things like Christmas presents or for getting those things I could not afford to buy if I didn't have a little extra from MyLot. But I stay here because of the quality of the discussions I can find here. If I don't find good discussions I end up leaving for a time. This is my third time here and each time I have left before was because the quality of the discussions seemed to weaken over time. But now I am deciding that if I can't find the kinds of discussions I want to participate in here, I will start them. In the past I have been reluctant to start discussions although I have done so from time to time. Usually I spend more time responding. But this time I am changing things up a little bit. Setting these goals is one way to do that. So how about you? I keep reading responses on other discussions from people who say they don't ever start discussions of their own. Maybe if all of us put more effort into starting quality discussions, responses would improve, and then the money might also improve. What do you think?

I not make any goal about starting discussion and responding on others if i am free then join mylot and start the work. Whenever get some idea in mind then start the discussion otherwise response on others. Only the main goal is to reach till 10 dollar in a month but this is hard for me.

For me, I think making goals for yourself is a good idea which would place you in better earnings in mylot and also avoid wasting time by avoiding those posts that would later on be deleted. I myself had a lot of discussion posts deleted and this is due to not trying to understand the FAQ more deeply enough. Anyway, you reminded me of having goals for myself and not only for mylot but for all my other goals in life which will be better accomplished when I set goals. Writing them down is another good idea :)

I do believe that you can make more and get your monthly payout quicker if you start discussions as well as respond to them. I'm not sure how MyLot decides which discussions are worth what amount, but I've always heard that starting them makes more money than merely responding. So far from just setting and following my goal, this has proved true.

Hi capirani! Goals are very important if we really want to be successful in our career. Personally, I have a goal to reach monthly payout. I know I am really very busy with my full time job but I see to it that I come to myLot as often as possible to update. I also started several discussions which is mostly about my personal life and new ideas on online activities. I am very careful when starting my discussion because not only that I don't want to lose my earning but also those who replied to it. I know we are all working hard so being deducted for violating a rule will never make us feel good. So far I am proud that I never had a discussion deleted. There are times that I am being notified that my post was deleted because the discussion which it was under was deleted and I am already sad about it. What more if my own discussion will be gone? So aside from quantity, I always aim for the quality. Good luck with your online activities and wishing you more success in life!

As long as you follow MyLot guidelines it is unlikely that your discussions you start will be deleted. If people respond rudely to your discussions, you can also report them so that they will have to stop doing that. Thanks for your response.

Yes, we follow the rules but some of my our friends here are asking why their discussions were deleted when in fact they tried their best to follow the guidelines? At which part do they commit a mistake? Some of the questions that are hard to answer. If ever I reported somebody for adding a referral link on my discussion, will the person know it? Will it have affect to my discussion or should I say, will my discussion get deleted if others put a referral link as a response?

capirani if all of us would comment back on the responses others give to our discussions it wou d be a better mylot all the wa y arou d. instead a lot of people don't realize that our responses to your discussions do not pay you. we did the work so we get the pay.so you must get busy and comment back on all those r responses we gave you to make money and t o not be rude.not just thanks but a r eal comment b ack to us.

That's correct Hatley. All those who put out the efforts to start good discussions deserve good responses. And those responses should at least be acknowledged in some way. Of course not all responses leave it open to commenting back to them which makes that part difficult. But at least a thanks is nice.

I have much to learn from you guys, and I want to focus on what Hatley said about not being rude. This part makes our mylot experience very pleasant and enjoyable, so I do hope this is followed by all mylotters. cheers!

Hi Capirani, I don't have a goal to start many discussion. For now I enjoy participating in other people's discussions. I have difficulties in elaborate my thought into a discussion, it is harder to start than to respond. So I prefer responding in discussions which I think I can relate with. I think the secret of mylot earning is by helping each other. You help the members by creating new discussion and other member will help you by responding to your discussion if they can relate themself with your discussions, when somebody post a response on your discussion there is bigger chance to improve your earning by comment back to the response. Yes, sometime we cannot avoid deletion and it is a normal thing on mylot, I dont think it is something to regret for. We might lose the earning but Im still happy when my response was commented back by the discussion starter before it is deleted. Because it's means our thought has already read by the person. For me it was not a waste although the discussion along with my response is deleted. Well, I'm a bit picky in responding to a discussion. I like to respond to the people who comment back to every response they received, more chance to improve their earning and more chance for me to improve my earning too. I also like to participate in newbie's discussion hoping it can encourage them to stay active on mylot.

Yes! I really set my goals for my participation here in Mylot. And one of my goals in each day is to create a lot of discussions and answer many discussions! :)
