Everyone says that it was good that i had this kind of job but they don't know what really happening in our office. I am the only one working for someones promotion and our boss doesn't see all my hard works. I did try to talk to him but in the end, i was labelled as a lech. I had remember when the time i was hired my boss said that it was good to have me here then promise me to promote me after one year but when newbies comes in , he had forgotten his promise. Instead he promote the newbies due to the fact that they came from a good and powerful family that can influence everything. But what about me, its been almost two years...and I am still waiting for his promise. Had he forgotten that his the one who force me to have this job and promise me good future. Had he forgotten all my works that brought him to fame and glamor. I am not counting on what i had done but my pride is really falling to pieces. My dreams are started to fade...I lost all my strength and inspiration. Its like I was just being trashed.

Hi Magz! Whenever I have a new pc, I always make sure that I have a back up storage for my files. The thing is, I lost all the files twice which includes all my photos, important documents, and others. Those are my files for the last couple of years of my life, I invested time, effort and emotions on that, and I lose all of them in instant. I think that if you happen to lose all your files and you do not have a back up of them, you will definitely be frustrated. Our goals in life are like computers. If we do not want to end up with nothing, we should always have a back up plan for them. This could also help avoid disappointments in life. Politics is very common in any workplace. Yes, I do understand how you feel. It is like you are being neglected after all the hard works you've done. You may really feel that you are no longer important. But I think that it is not yet too late to regain your self worth. If you're in the position to leave the job and look for something better, then do it now. Don't wait another year if you think that this boss has already forgotten his promise. And in fact, I don't think someone who don't own the office could really make such promise. I believe that your boss is also an employee and so, there are many factors that can affect his decisions. BUT, if you do not want to leave your present job, just try to make the most out of it. What does this office have that could help you improve your skills and knowledge? Maximize the resources they provide to improve yourself. Take every opportunities that you see along the way and of course, make a lasting impression to those you deal with. Give your best so they won't forget your name. The bottom line here, if your boss will not help you get the promotion he promised you, make your own move to achieve something comparable to that promotion. My previous boss told me that we are like plants, that when put in a soil that isn't suited for us, we will not able to grow. If you think that you are in the wrong soil, trying moving and look for a better soil for you to grow. You can't waste your precious time in waiting for someone who won't keep his promise.

You're welcome and sorry for that very long explanation I hope you'll be able to achieve your dreams. It should really begin within us. They say that promises are made to be broken so we should not really rely to that all the time. Don't forget me when you reached the top Have a nice day ahead!

You have a good heart and do your job well. I would look for another job. But be prepared for it to take some time by also don't slack at your current one. I'm in somewhat of the same spot but not sure if it's my fault or the companies for me not getting the results I wanted. Just rember you are responsible for your happiness and life so make it what you want. Good luck!

Unfortunately there will be times in most people's jobs in their lifetime when they run into this. I can truly relate as many of the places I have worked many times I have often felt overlooked as well. Just know I am better than they will ever see and that is many times the thing that drives me to want to do something else.

I can feel where you are coming from. I can really relate in this discussion, since I had been in the same situation years ago. What I did is I that I strived to be a better employee and eventually enriched my craft. I enrolled to conferences and updates using my own money, learn new things. I know that this is easier said than done, but I tried my best to stand up and prove my worth to the company. To cut the story short, I finally got the position that I aspire. I hope everything will turn out right there, do your best to prove your worth. Good luck.

If you know that you're not getting no where with your boss and if you can't take what is happening inside your office then look for another job and leave your current work. It's not good for your self-esteem anymore if you keep on staying and working there. I know it's hard to get a job these days but you don't have a choice but to find another one.

From your words, I could see that you are a hardworking man. You aspire after success in your career through your hard work. I think we are the same sort of people. I also want to have a successful career. But you should know that not all the things are fair. The experience of life contains in many unfair things. You need to learn to adapt yourself in the society and accept the unfair things. We are now young, and we still have much time to struggle to improve ourselves. You should recognize the fact that the world is not fair. At least, you have the right to fire your boss. I think how to improve yourself is the most important thing.

It's sad to see that some people are like that. I mean some people can simply promise anything under the moon and the stars when they are in hardship. But once they have obtained their goals and they no longer need your service and help most of the times these people tend to forget about what you have done to make him famous and earn such a good name. If I were you, I will plan my own strategy without telling him even a bit. I will continue to work there, but at the same time I will do something which enables me to resign from the existing work one day. It might be taking up an online course, or searching for a better paying job. I will take leave from work during the days when I need to go for job interviews. Right now you need to focus on yourself and don't care much about your boss. He doesn't deserve your full attention and care because he doesn't appreciate you in the first place. I believe you have the credentials to find another job anytime you want. Just keep having faith that life would become better soon. I wish you good luck.

You can only do your best if you are inspired to do something. If you think that your job doesn't feel like making you grow as a person, then leave and find a new job that can recognize your worth.

People change and sadly, it isn't always for the better. You seem to be someone who knows how to do her job and do it well, if you really have ni more future there, I think it's time to look for another job at a different organization. But don't quit unless you have a ready job waiting for you somewhere. For now, while still working there, go online and look for vacancies in other agencies. Since you have the eligibility, make it a point to have a ready and updated CV as every month new positions are being opened. I know it isn't that easy but you have to put some trust in the system and your own merits. Good luck and I hope your situation improves soon.

You meet the boss who doesn't keep his promise, it's so bad. I feel there are many bosses who will do that in this society. They can do good to the clerks who come from rich family, whose parents are leaders in some department... It's unfair to common people, I believe you are not the only one who face it. But don't so mind it , try to make yourself happy. I think happiness and health are the most important things for people, positons are money are not that important.

in one perspective, you should be happy,. lucky enough to have a job that pays you. on the other perspective,..i feel sorry for your misfortune. i think you should fine another job that would satisfy you. also, why don't you try to get into further studies like taking masteral degree, or doctorate, or maybe take a qualifying exam that will enhance your professional qualifications. in that way, you can walk out from that office and search for greener pasture..(im starting to imagine your boss begging you to stay)..
