how do you make your online experience secure and safe?

while we all want to earn money, we also want to secure our money. i'd like mylotters to share their software or browser addons experience or recommendations with everyone. what software or browser addons do you use to make sure your browsing or internet experience is safe and secure, especially when you have to use sites like mylot and payment processors like paypal?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well u are absolutely right, i think we should all think of this thing while we are making money so that any doubts are not raised in our mind regarding this. We will be free from any fraudulent acts and any possible acts of insecurity to us can be detected on time. As of now i have not used any protection techniques as i am unaware of those things. Could u please suggest me the names of the same?

i use https-everywhere addon from eff.org with my firefox. i also use netcraft addon so i can have a view of the rankings of the websites i am on. the addon tells me that mylot.com is ranked 51540 on site report and belongs to amazon.com. i also use an addon that blocks scripts perfectly; so when i trust a site, i can ask it to allow the script else the script wouldn't ever work with the browser.
can you share what you use?
