Anything a man can do a woman can do too and sometimes even better than a man for example construction being a doctor voting going to college weightlifting and other sports. Through out history women have been told they can't do certain things like be a truck driver do sports or construction work, but we have shown people we can do it and have now a days. In some countries women still are not allowed to vote go to school be doctors and such. So you think this is fair? I don't think this is fair because everyone should be treated as an equal and some women can d everything a man can? if a man can be a nurse now a days as iv'e seen then a woman can be a doctor. Used to be that the only jobs women were allowed to have were teacher telephone operator secretary and nurse but now i see so many women in so many jobs that men do like sports construction truck driving and it should have been this way through out history because anything a man can do a woman too. Yes some women can get hurt easier than man in sports or construction or weightlifting but then again man can get hurt easier than a woman as well. It all depends on the peron's body type and strength not weather they are male or female. So what are your thoughts on this? Do you think anything a man can do a woman can do too and sometimes even better and should be able to do?

As a woman, I agree that there is nothing women as a group cannot accomplish. That being said, I could not be a firefighter, I do not have the upperbody strength required to lift the eqipment that firefighters tote with them. Are there women out there that could, of course? I do not want a fire department to hire women just to meet a quota, when those women are not capable of doing the same quality work. I will not push for women's rights when it becomes a public safety issue.

Asyria i do agree with you except that some men can't be firefighters either. Some men just don't have the upper body strength as well. I also don't think they should a black person or a woman or a man or anyone just to fill a quota. They should hire the best person for the job and the one who can do it the best. So i do agree with you but people without upper body strength can be men as well and they shouldn't hire anyone any minority or whatever not just women to fill a quota.

I agree that if the most qualified person or people for a job that regards public safety are white men that they should be hired. But there are women out there capable of doing the job. There is one thing that men cannot do, and that is give birth...at least not naturally.

While it may be true that women are striving to compete with their male counterparts in this modren era, but the question is: do women really want to do everything that a man does? Really? Are you women serious? Why am I asking these questions? It is because I do not think men are particularly interested or inclined to compete with women in such a way that they want to do everything that a woman does! It that is so (whereby men are inlined to compete with the women as mentioned above), wouldn't the world be a crazier place than we are already experiencing? For example, can you imagine the 'world' wasting of scarce resources in order to perform that feat; knowing that -given specialized anatomy features of males and females- there are skils, chores, attributes are synoymous with being either a male or female.

Yes, you are absolutely right, but then again on a different degree of capacity. Some activities are best done by women over men and vice-versa.

I agree than man and woman are equal and anything than a man can do could be done by a woman also. Man could excel in any occupation and the woman have proved that they are also equal to that. From my point of view due to the rules of the society this division between man and woman has been created. I would even say that there are a lot of things which could be done in a better manner by a women which no man could do it in that manner. The beauty and calmness that a women bring to the workplace can't be achieved by any man.

That's correct. Very well said. I agree with you. It's unfair for women to be treated that way. There are just some things that only men can do and there are also some things that only women can do. But most of the time in different circumstances women can do what men can and much better. Why, can men bear babies? Definitely not.

I think we should all be free to choose what we want to do with our life . Those countries that are afraid of losing control of their woman so they like to know that they are uneducated and cannot travel without a man . Countries like those make me appreciate my small island . There are a lot of men now being secretary and wanting to be stay at home dad's at least in our society . Woman are now doing everything and just as capable as any man . Even if woman can get hurt easier it should be her choice and nobody else .

My husband can pee while walking and I don't think I can do it LoL Seriously, I think that gender equality has been a major issue in the past. Many countries have already acknowledged that women are not for household chores alone. She can actually make her own way to success in a corporate world. I have even attended a Gender and Development seminar twice. They do monitor the equality between both genders in the workplace based on their age and education. I think that there has been great improvements with regards to gender equality in the past as I don't think that nowadays, people still look at women as weak. Many women have really showed the world what true success mean. But you are also right that despite this improvements in some countries, there are also some who are still stucked in the past. They don't give opportunities to women and think that they are lower than men. Women from those countries could not even voice out their views and opinions.

Some other countries may still have this gender discrimination but in our country we already have have program that allowed both gender on all types of job as long as they will qualify. There is no more discrimination in terms of gender. Have a nice day!

Nowadays a woman is almost equal with man. Woman can do what man can do and in fact sometimes a woman can do better. But of course a man is still a man and is the image of braveness. I actually believe about the saying that "in every man's success, there's a woman behind it". Man get's inspired when there's an inspiring woman in his life. May it be of looks, attitude or position of that woman, if that's inspired a man... the man will really do everything to get to the top because of that woman in his life. When a boy is young her inspiration is his mom. Then when he gets older and has a wife, it's his wife that he gets inspired of. Everything a man can do a woman can too. It's just only few women do it co's they let man do it even do they can.::)

As a women I believe there are many things a women can do as good as a man and sometimes better however that is not always the case. For example if you were in the Army and you were a 300 lb man who would you want to carry your injured body back from the battle field in a pinch? Yes, many times you will have other people there with you to help lift someone but that is not always the case. Which is probably one of the reason women are not eligible for Sec Ops jobs. I will say though that I'm sure there are things that women are naturally better at as well so it all balances out.

I think everyone should have the same choice and should be treated fairly. Society has tried to force us into certain roles over the years but nowadays people tend to try what they want and work hard for it. It is a modern society in a lot of countries although I know that some countries are still very strict with regards to roles women and men play. In my relationship I have to go out to work because of my husbands illness, he often feels guilty as he is unable to provide for us but I tell him I don't mind which I don't as I love my job! Its all about equality living in a diverse world. Sorry ive waffled on loads
