TV Commercials of some politicians

May next year will be another national elections here in our country. Though the start of campaign period for those who wll run for the said election is not yet announced, I can already see some TV ads of some that will run for senators. What more if the start of the campaign period has already started? I am sure that TV ads will be mostly composed of campaign ads by politicians. Although it is not yet officially considered as their campaign material, the said ads can be already considered as one because they have already filed their candidacy and they are already starting to let other people know their platforms once they got elected. Such TV ads really annoyed me but I can't do something about this. How about you fellow Filipinos, what are your views on this issue?

This premature campaigning is really annoying. Creating commercials which implies their concern for the people's welfare makes me feel sick. The timing of these info commercials is a big ??? Why only now? But taking this positively, at least at this early it guided me in my elimination process. However, it is disappointing that a couple of them whom i thought are worth considering have joined the bandwagon and I am now having second thoughts on their sincerity and intentions.

instead of building up their image it does the opposite as it makes you ponder why?.

The politicians are striking again. Their strategy is really irritating and obviously they are apt for early campaigns. The COMELEC should regulate this because this is a clear proof of wasting the people's money. We shouldn't vote for politicians who are taking advantage this early.

It's a promotion of some sort my dear but the real agenda is to be visible so people will recall them. You know well the system here, all even the president gone through this.

It's part of the game. They need to let people know their intentions, so yes, they spend lots of money on these commercials.

I think the campaigning is 2 or 3 months before the elections.. which is February or March.. but i have seen commercials since last month.. I am annoyed by this too. but then we can do nothing about it.. they are just so thick skinned. I hope people won't be fooled by this anymore.

My question is: when will both houses of congress (both the senate and house of representatives) enact a law to ban such premature campaign? I am fed up with this!

factorial, I think namiya is right. many will not be infavor of enactment of this law. Given they are going to pass a bill about this one, it will really take years before it will be passed since most members of the house is always part of these premature campaigns. namiya, I also hope that it was not came from the governement budgetary.

hi factorial. I support you question however, do you think congress will prioritize an enactment going against this practice if it will not work in their favor? I do hope they will have enough conscience to stop playing with the voters intelligence using hopefully not people's money.
