The Daily Grinds of Living

The sun rises at dawn, a new day comes. People wake up early in the morning. Mothers cook breakfast (some prepare for work) for family. Fathers are ready to go to their offices. The children run towards their school buses to attend school every week days. We visit our family, relatives, and friends. We meet different kinds of people and even strangers. We plant. We build. We all do our daily grinds of everyday living. However, with all these daily grinds of living, have you wondered your real purpose here on earth? Sometimes, I keep wondering too. And I always pray to God that I can fulfill my purposes here on earth.

I believe we have many different purposes on earth. The way we influence other people, events, and grow spiritually are just some of the reasons I believe I am here. My goal is to walk the path of the righteous and be the best person I can be. I believe in doing so I will fulfill my purpose on earth whatever that may be. The lord works in mysterious ways and I do not believe we are meant to know why we're here. We just need to follow his teaching and know he will never guide us down the wrong path.

Hi edvc! I studied in a public school during my primary years. I still remember this question that asked by our volunteer teacher in theology. She told us that our main purpose why we are here on earth is to know God, to serve God and to love God. I cannot forget that statement even that was a long time already. I am already working, have my own family and my children are already grown ups but until now I am not sure if I am really serving my purpose on earth. Have a nice day!

I do sometimes feel like I seem to have no purpose to my life except to go to the shops to buy food, and take the dog for a walk. Which is a bit of a disappointing destiny to have God create for me, but maybe my dog is going to do something very important in his life, who knows. I do think that we can lose sight of what we should really be doing because there are just so many routine things we have to do every day, but I suppose we have to set ourselves targets and goals, that lead us towards what we believe is our destiny. I always think if something goes wrong with my plans that is a message from god that I am going in the wrong direction, though not always, sometimes its just a slight shift not a massive change.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely right, we all are so much busy with our normal lives that we often forget the real purpose for which we were sent on this earth. We never take time to think what could be those small steps taken by us that can make a huge difference in this world and would be in the betterment of all the people. What say?

the evening comes. we rush to catch the bus going home. we get home, relieved but with work waiting again. the kids have stories to tell about school. you wonder about homework and teachers grades. the kids tell you about the Internet. mummy comes home. she goes to the kitchen. you help her there. everyone's had breakfast. the daily grind has run its course. "good night daddy. see you in the morning." life is beautiful indeed.

Hi! I agree. We we are to love our family and that is one purpose why we are here. We cannot choose a family but Gd gave them to us and we should love and take care of them. This will please God ver much.

Your purpose is to develop yourself in every way you can. Nothing less or more, to learn to take care of yourself, to count on yourself since you are born alone but also will die alone. At the moment you die you have to be satisfied about what you did with your own life, what you did for you.
