My older brother is 30 and not so good with his pocket book. His car broke today while going to work. He does't have the money to fix it. My parents go to me when I walked through the door the feed the brats, that I should lend my car to him until he can pay for it. I just laughted, now whenever something comes up they expect ME to stop my life to let him go to work because he needs to go to work and I don't. I told them no, I have to work, doctors appointments, and volunteering literally everyday of the week. I was then told to drive him to work for free, I told them they are both home more than me and my Dad isn't working so lend his car, or drive him. Why should I pay thousands to keep myb car on the road and then not have it because someone else cant afford their car. When I didnt have a car for a week, not one person offered me anything, nor did my brother. I have lend my brother my car in the past as I wasnt working as much, the deal was to put gas in and he couldnt even do that. My Grandma calls and trying to give me crap, she doesn't understand, she thinks I should just hand my keys over when others need a car. I wont even bother argueing with them or try explaining it. My SIL mother gave them her car to them to drive as well (as she pays for it so they have another car).

I would stand your ground.. It sounds like everyone is willing to give your brother the world and your brother takes advantage of the situation.. Yes you may hear tons of flack for it.. But in the end it would be your neck on the line not all of the other people.. Also you have a full scheluce of things that you do all week long.. It seems like no one else is taking that all in to consideration.. You shouldnt have to pay the price for your brothers mishaps..

I agree, if he get's in an accident it falls back on me. Also, it's inconvenient to me and my schedule. He can't budget his money, and pay his bills or put money away how is that my problem.
