I remember my grandmother coming up with some of the nuttiest things! Sometimes I questioned her sanity!!! lol But they always worked! Bee stings-take a cigarette, get some of the tobacco out, wet it and place on sting Bad Cough-boil purple onions, bourbon and honey, strain and take 1 tablespoon

I tend to catch colds easily from anybody nearby. It usually starts with a scratchy throat then it progresses into a full-blown cough with colds. Thankfully, I know an effective home remedy--vinegar. Ever since a friend of mine told me this, vinegar has become my favorite home remedy.

I just take (or drink/swallow) a tablespoon or two of vinegar whenever I have the beginnings of a cold. It usually starts with a scratchy throat for me accompanied by coughing. I used to drink gin, but a nurse told me that vinegar is better. I tried it and it's been my main line of defense ever since. By the way, I still get the cough, but it doesn't last as long and I'm not sluggish during the day. In my experience, it's better than cough syrup or antibiotic.

Vinegar? Interesting. What do you do with it exactly?

I learned a couple from my aunt.. There was one with onion and sugar but there are a couple other ingretients but it is a broth that you drink.. Yes it works too.. Another one is putting vicks vapor rub on your feet then put socks on then climb into bed.. It clears up most congestion on children and adults.. Migrane take two ibrofen and drink black coffee as fast as you can.. Would get rid of my migranes within 15 mintues.. Putting human hair clippings into stockings.. Put them in the garden bed, it does detour animals from eating your veggies.. Grow hot peppers in the garden; spread them around the base of your house in the fall; no rodents coming into your basement.. Vasgil (female product) works good to cure sweat rash; espeically for males in their area.. Clears up in three days or so.. best thing out there.. ex had that problem all of the time I know there are plenty more but those are the ones on the top of my head..

Vinegar on a bee or other sting. Keeps it from swelling. My daughter was very allergic to stings. She'd swell up FAST. I tried that and it worked beautifully. Colds--I used to eat raw onions with salami on a sandwich. It stopped working well after a few years. A book said you could be low on potassium (or other vitamins). So it suggested some foods. I tried honey. It worked, but I loathe honey. GAG! So I tried bananas. Worked like a charm. I got very tired of having a bad cold for 6 months of a year!

I'll have to remember the vinegar on stings, my daughter and I are both allergic! I love honey! It's great for a sore throat in hot tea.
