Food and water for NYC Marathon Statin Island Starving

What a crazy thing they have power, food, water and rooms for the Marathon Runners but the people in Statin Island still has no power, gas or food and are kicked out of the hotels.

I suppose the rationale is that the marathon brings back a sense of normality or that it's a beacon of hope, a reminder that things aren't that bad. But I think it's just the knucklehead up there wanting to pretend like things are better than they are.

They finally cancelled it but many people were there or on the way will only add to the confusion. They should have cancelled it right away so people could make other plans.

What discrimination?? It was stupidity to think they could run it without hurting the recovery effort in a major way.
