Exhausted after the Vacation

It's a four-day long weekend because of the holidays. We've been on the road for the past two days, hopping from town to town, visiting relatives, and eating out to try native delicacies. It is a fun way to spend the long weekend, but it is also EXHAUSTING. My brother did all the driving, but it is tiring to go from one town to another and spend long hours on the expressway. It's ironic isn't it? To feel exhausted after the vacation.. On the brighter side, the cause of exhaustion is not stress from work, but due to visiting different towns and catching up with relatives. To minimize the exhaustion, we are all catching up on sleep. And had massage last night. However, there is now that new stress to deal with: Going back to the city. LoL!! How about you, how do you minimize exhaustion after a tiring vacation?

We just came back from vacation last week. We all went back to my hometown, and like you we did visit relatives and had a few lunches and dinners (and even some drinking) which some nights took too long because we had a lot to catch up. I realized that I only got a few hours of sleep each night through the two week vacaction, and I was too exhausted when I got back. This was bad news last week as I also had a ton of work waiting for me when I got back. I need a vacation from my vacation!

Hello Bounce. That explains why you've been gone for awhile. It's nice you went home to your hometown. I'm sure you had a lot of fun while in the country. :) Yes, we do feel that way sometimes, wanting to have a vacation from the previous vacation, LoL!! Thanks for the response. :)

My last holiday was for 10 days and I slept in 4 different beds as I attempted to meet up with friends and family. I came home exhausted but at least I was not too sad at leaving everyone again - All I really wanted was my own bed and privacy. I would prefer to stay in a hotel, in the same place and use it as a base, but I think my family would be quite hurt if I did that.

hi there arystine. the good part, and you wrote this as well, is that you got tired from your vacation. getting tired after a vacation is always better than getting tired after too much work! lol! as for your query, i usually add two or three days after my 'actual' vacation in my itinerary. i call this my post-vacation days wherein i try to acclimate myself back to my normal work schedule. it works well for me and hope that is does the same to you. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

We never plan enough time for this;' we set up our vacation so that we have to go back to work the next day. And yet, after a vacation, you always need a rest. I think this might be another reason why "staycations" are becoming so popular.

I like the concept of "stay-cations". Will do that the next time. To have time to rest after an exhausting (but FUN) vacation. Thanks for the response!

I have no budget yet to travel but then I told my boyfriend if in case that we only have money for travel then I would want to file a leave for a week from the October 26 up to now then this would be the day that we are going to arrive so at least we still have allowance to rest before the work. But honestly I am lazy going back to work on Monday. I don't have vacation but instead I am addicting posting here in forums for me to earn more.

Hello arystine! Good to be back, isn't it? Well, vacation's over now and Monday, back to normal work life again... It's really good to have province where you can visit family once again and feel the province air, and simple life. Friends who have stayed there can be missed and fun starts as well. Well, I don't have a province, my father has, but we don't go there often. It's good that you have a massage for it lessens your worry times. Just don't feel stressed and you'll be fine. Think of travelling as your time to feel nature and surroundings.

Back to reality on Monday! :s It's nice to be back in the city and have one more day to relax before the coming workweek. I try very much not to feel stressed, and to forget the problems of other people. This vacation took my mind off things somehow. Thanks for the response. :)

Kinda weird, Huh? You go in vacation to relax and have fun, and you come back more tired than when you left. But, the change of scenery and seeing new things and just getting away from it all does recharge your body and brain. It's worth it in the long run.

Yes, that's what makes the "pain" worth it. Getting away from the city, work, and stress. :) Thanks for the response!

Hello arystine. I can see how exhausted you might feel after travelling from the vacation. Last month, my family also had a travel to our provincial capital and we spent our holidays there with a lot of walking in the city, which was so tiring, but we were happy and got back home for a day's rest to recover our tiredness. Take care and have a good rest.

Well, first things first like literally relaxing, watch some wholesome movie, enjoy favorite food and get a lot of sleep.

I think it is worth it to feel drain from having vacation. You have the time to catch up with friends and family. The bonding moment with them is worth.

I like traveling, it gives a real pleasure to explore the world. Though it is tiring, that's the part of the plan. Depending on the stamina, we can still go for travel in a slow or fast pace.

Hi, Good that at least you take an off from your busy life. As for me, I don't really feel relax with short vacations because the ride is always tiring, then the heat is exhausting. What I like most with vacation is when I have more time to lay down in cold place, more time to think and more lazy times in a beach resort or something. I know I have weird description of vacation. lol.

It's not weird at all. :) aside from the activities during vacation, what I really would like to do is to do nothing. :D thanks for the response.

I just don't make my vacations that tiring. In who's advantage is it? I think if it is that tiring you can't enjoy as much as you want. My housemate's relatives like to spend part their vacations here with us. So once we had 42 people her for 5 days. And I can tell that I was not happy at all. The place was a complete mess. Sure they did clean before leaving but it took me days to find all the stuff back that was misplaced. Then all the laundry, cleaning the bathrooms. It was sure no vacation for me :(
