My brother and my sister in law just came from a trip so I invited them over. I Thought we were going to talk about their trip, but we talked a little bit of this and a little bit of that. A coversation piece were the appetizers I made from the seeds of the pumpkin I bought. I had that and mushrooms in olive oil. So you serve apetizers before diner when you have company? I find it`s a good way of heating food and do the finishing touches while we talk. They broght a marvelous wine. YUM!!!

hi marguicha and anggunmelati we had fried rice with veggies mixed in and mushrooms along with fish and it was so good. I was so afraid it would raise my blood sugar sky high b ut I only went to 137 which is not bad after lunch. But I think the veggies and the egg in it kept my blood glucose down where it belonged.Beggies and protein really help us diabetics.

hi, that was great if you can invite your brother for dinner because my brother is not that close to me and to my elder and younger sister,so he is hardly to invite when it comes to dinner or any kind of eating outdoor, unlike my elder and younger sister if i will invite them, they will come with me.

It is a pity that you don`t feel comfortable at having your brother at home. You know, I feel that I don`t have to be "friends" with my brother. It is another kind of relation. I think that I know that I can count on him and know that he knows he can count on me.

U are so smart & ambitious. I know all your friends & family must love coming to your house. No, i don't serve appetizers. Do well to get a meal fixed anymore, lol.

I love to play cooking, Jo. I love being at the kitchen and in the garden. But I don`t like cleaning up so I pay a lady to come once a week to help me with that. My food is a lot better when I have visitors, so I invite a lot.

I would be very happy to invite you and Kalyani for more than just a meal. Should you come to this part of the world, I`d be honored to have you in my home. It has enough space and she could teach me some of those indian dishes I`d like to learn to make.

Maybe someday we can meet halfway. We live so far away! And it is so expensive to cross the planet! I cannot even think now about going to an island that is part of my country because air fare is too much.

Glad to hear you had such a fod time with them. It;s always nice to have good company and a night with them. I love cooking and baking, and trying new recipes online. I find my stuffed mushrooms are always a good turnover as an appetizer. Basically take the steam out of mushrooms (I use white mushrooms), mix cream cheese, mushrooms, zucchini, onion, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl then scoop into the mushroom and bake. I also sometimes grate cheese ontop of it.

These are mushrooms fried in olive oil and garlic and served with french bread slices. That way, people can also moisten the bread with the oil that has acquired a mushroomy-garlic taste. YUMMY!

It`s really very easy to make. And it keeps in the fridge so that you can have some as a snack or when you have company.

I have never tasted unripe mango. I didn`t even know they could be eaten. Are those the same mangoes we use for smoothies and fruit salads?
