Let them eat cake!

today i was watching Anderson as I usually do and he had Nancy Grace on which i do watch now and then and of course they were discussing Hurricane Sandy. Anderson said how wrong it seemed when he was reading the news and read that some people are having big parties and flying in DJs etc. there when so many others there are in need. 27 thousand still without power. hundreds lost their house and everything and instead of offering to help some rich selfish people are doing the expensive party thing. and Nancy just said its kind of like the "let them eat cake" phrase. Do you understand what she was saying? I do since i remember reading about Marie Antoinettes parties and her saying that when someone told her that people were starving with no bread. it was her mentality never having to worry about or realise how sad that can be. have you ever wondered about this? ever come to figure why people get like that?

Hiya bunnybon, There are so many things going right now and we get interested to know how the people over in the States are coping with it all and then poof all of a sudden you do not get to know anymore about it. Here and there I read about things but I think that much later on when they make Documentaries about it is when we would realize the whole effect. Right at this time we are only hearing about Obama and how he is doing in the Elections while it is important I feel that us being able to help those other people out in some way is much more useful to me than forever hearing about Elections and Elections. Even though we are here and you are over there we still might be able to do something I do not know exactly what but at least sending out our best thoughts for help to reach them I think is better than nothing. I never like to write about superficial people like those who ignore the plight of others and really if they ignore others like that sometime or another the message just might reach them who knows? Hope you are well have a great week and take care now.xxx

Hiya bunnybon, Today something terrible happened over here and that is the only thing that has decided to finally change a law that is totally unsociable to anyone. They had taken all this so lightly up to now but when the woman killed herself because they were taking her house away from her they did not take it so lightly after. May she rest in peace and this injustice has to end somewhere but meanwhile like you say the Music goes on and I think that they will change something but more likely to their advantage but I hope not I want to hope in positive. This is why I avoid the News as much as I can as they seem to think that we have all studied and we are all learned in the ways of the blessed Stock Exchange and all that bla bla bla. That is on every day non stop I do not blame you for not listening to the News either. Have a great Weekend.xxx

Some people are just like that , they dont care about anyone else . I guess that is how they get rich in the first place , being selfish and have no shame about it . I cant believe they would act that way on tv though , I guess the having a Paris Hilton moment .

I'm sure however, there are wealthy persons who are pitching in and helping.. which I'm sure no one means to imply otherwise.. I used to have some friends who became angry towards us when we bought our house, and they were still renting, but you see we saved money over the years, while they spent money going out every friday and saturday night, and paying babysitters also, all a very expensive thing as far as we were concerned, concerning our own budget and where we wanted to go.. I always thought it very unfair that they felt things were unequal because we chose to save and buy a home, and they never did.. I'm just venting.. thanks.. I hate how politicians especially of late have been playing that age old blame game, unfortunately it works very well and leads nowhere good..

silverfox, ive actually seen on tv where models have went there for photo shoots to get attention to themselves. thats selfish like Paris hilton. flowerchild, kudos to you. im sure you had to sacrifice a lot for what you need in life and shame on the petty people that dont get that.

Some people have always appeared to be callous and without any feeling of compassion to then less fortunate. I hinestly believe that when we die our God will ask only one question. He will ask 'How well did you love my people?'. I wonder what they will say? Let our God judge them. It is so sad that some people are like this.

cynthiann, you wrote - "It is so sad that some people are like this." -- Amen! that's the so sad thing, how flawed human nature is.. and it's all of us, not just one or two groups or classes, that's another human failing, the age old blame game, which whenever it is played, is played for a particular reason, and is the true root of most war upon the planet, but it works very well as it plays so well within flawed human nature.. "Christ in us, our only hope.."

They have no clue. It is hard to imagine that anyone could be so blind to the extent of poverty or hardships in the world, but these are easy subjects for those that have never had to experience it. Some people live in their own little worlds never seeing.

exactly. but you would think that in these days with so much media, they could know and care. Marie had no knowledge nor idea how it could be that others did not have things. never having experienced it nor even knowing from which things came

Well, I like Anderson but I don't like Nancy Grace. I call her Nasty Grace. LOL. ANyway, I think you're talking about the concert that they had for the victims. The one with Bruce Springsteen and the rest. I think that was a great thing for them to do to raise money. I do understand the "Let them eat cake" thing. And I do agree with that. And I do agree that there are many rich selfish people in this world. They should help people in need. I know if I were rich, I would have no problem giving money to help these people. I would go as far as building housing for them. And to make sure they have everything they need.

me to. no, im not referring to those that helped. Anderson was talking about others that just turned a blind eye to it all. just like with killers, some of us have no idea whats in those peoples heads nor how they sleep at night. i think you are like most men when it comes to Nancy. ive never met a man yet that likes her they always say, uuhhh! you watch her? and always say they cant stand her. yet most women say, oh i love her. lol. ive no idea why.

Well as far as the criminal, they did plenty of looting in Coney Island and some parts of Queens also. I don't think they really care. As for Nasty Grace. Well, maybe you're right. Maybe men don't like her. I just think she comes across with an attitude. I think she should tone down her hate.

Some just dont think about others. People are starving all over the world, and we give money to the wrong people. We need to help those most in need. Amen. Thanks for the great post here.

I'd have to say that those people are just ignorant of what's really happening around them. They're all about parties and stuff while not knowing that the other people around them are suffering. That's my take. It's be much worse if these people are already aware of the hurricane and still went through with whatever celebration they're planning to do.

thats the problem. theres actually people right there by it and in it that have no care about others because they have generators and things to keep them comfortable and they have no care.

Hi bunnybon Well, everyone doesnt get born with a nobler heart. That said, there are others too who dont seem to be bothered much with what is happening around them. This scenario seems similar, unlike the Marie Antoinette who I think said this out of innocence. It is however sad that many of those who have dont have enough heart or time for doing charity or even think about those who dont have. if they could and did, I am sure many of the problems of the have-nots would get resolved easily and better way.

absolutely. no wonder God said a rich man could not enter heaven. im just hopeing he was only talking about the selfish ones. because id like to be rich but not give up heaven for it. plus id do so much for others. even when i used to be just well off and not really rich, i helped a lot of charities and people.

It is pretty sad, perhaps they just seem ignorant to most. But the fact is if they are rich like that then more than likely they won't think about the needy too much. There is one or two celebs, mostly Job Bon Jovi who comes to mind who will drop everything and be there for those who need a hand. It is almost like he wants to be President one day or something. I can see it in his eyes sometimes when he is out there with actual real ordinary people talking on the street after Sandy in one show I watched recently. I for one, would sure like to vote for him. I was always a Bon Jovi fan and if he ever does run for Prez he has my vote. It will be the first time I have ever voted in any Presidential election. I truely think more rich celebs at least should be as generous with their time or money like he is. He is an angel from above.

yes he is one of the few celebrities thats more concerned with helping people every where, like Anderson and would likely make a good president. he was also on Anderson today and another celebrity i cant remember the name of. most celebrities today are concerning them selves with getting their candidate elected this is not what should concern them.
