I am so excited knowing that there's a life inside me. I had gone to the doctor for prenatal then my doctor said that i should not eat sweets...my GOSh..i like chocolates and ice creams and i can't live without coffee in the morning but since it is bad for my baby i must abide the doctor. I should keep away from those things for the mean time........

Also, you have to limit your carbohydrates. Don't drink soda too. Yes, there are a lot of restrictions when women are pregnant. We should avoid them so that we'll have healthy babies. Goodluck. It's just 9 months. After that, you can eat everything again.

Hi again! Don't worry, you'll just have to stay away from sweets for the mean time. After all, its just a small sacrifice for your little angel. :) And from what I've gathered, you just have to stay away from it till your baby's in the crucial stages of development. When the baby's properly formed in your 8th month, you can have sweets but very minimal. But in my opinion, just stay away from sweets till you have your baby safely delivered. Now that you're entering motherhood, you need to have your child's comfort and life comes first. :)

It is the first time I hear that sweets like chocolate, ice cream etc is bad for the baby. Sorry but I never heard about that. My whole family is one of doctors and midwifes (the midwife over hear is the one who women go to during their pregnancy not the doctor and also they are the ones who help out delivering the baby) and nobody will ever say a thing like that. Unless you live in a country where there is big chance bacteries are in the ice (or meat or cheese). Even gathering more weight is not a problem anymore like it was 20 or 30 years ago. And if it comes to delivering/having/raising your baby alone... Many women do, already since ages. I am one of them. Keep that in mind. The fact you choose to do so after the father cheated on you already proves you are a strong person, with a good hard and this child will have a great mom who knows what is wrong or right and will stand and fight for it.

I am glad to know that you are going to be a mother. It is the time to enjoy and try to vomit all the problems that shook you. Certain food substances must be avoided to have a good health and you have to adjust with for your good child and for his/her good health.

Congratulate you on your future baby, and I want to say: you are so brave to decide to face your baby alone, it' s a brave decision. It' s really a happy thing to be a mum, you will feel it soon, especially when she/he is born, you see the child growing up gradually and you love each other, it's a kind of love that no one can take away. I know chocolate is not good for a pregnant woman especially for the first three months, it will lead to the abortion of the child. The doctor may tell you to have some chocolates before the birth of the child as chocolate will help you to give birth to the baby easily on the birth day. Take care!

Yes you should. It is quite a sacrifice for you but you must do that for you and your baby to be healthy inside your womb. Doctors were exists because we need them for us to remind and tell what's the best for our health. I admire you because despite of your misfortune with your guy, you still have that positive outlook in life. May God bless you and your baby.

Yes, you should take care of your baby first. You will have other cravings besides sweets and coffee. I'm sorry to hear that your mate left you, find a supportive group of ladies to help you through this wonderful time in your life. Take care of yourself as well, if you are tired ask for help. I'm sure you will be a great mom!

Pregnant women should eat healthier because it is not good for her health as well as the baby's. Sweets are discouraged to be taken because it can increase your weight faster and if you become so big during pregnancy, you might experience health problems that could worsen when you are about to give birth. Complications can arise- from hypertension, diabetes etc. To prevent the chance of having complications through your pregnancy, still on fruits and vegetables, taken in moderation.

When I was pregnant, I was also advised not to eat too much sweets, less ice cream and even less rice! Well, that is when Im on my 28th weeks already. Well, as for the coffee, yes, you should lessen to one cup if you cannot completely quit on it. And oh, congratulations on your baby!

Congratulation for the upcoming baby though it sad to hear you'll be raising your baby alone. Being a mother is really the hardest yet magical job in the world. I know that even if i am not yet a mother or married because i saw it to my mom and aunt. Magical because mother do everything for their child make impossible be possible. Sacrifice there own wants for their children and being mother will totally change the way you see the world.

I'm actually glad I can't get pregnant! Cause I'm a man. Haha. But I really love icecream and sometimes unhealthy food, so it would be hard for me if I was a woman.

When I was pregnant with my first child I ate very healthy. I did not want to fill my body with junk food. I wanted myself and my baby to be as healthy as possible but when I was pregnant with my son it was quite a bit harder. When my daughter was eating or snacking it made me want to even if I wasent really hungry. It was really hard to not give into my cravings. Good luck with your pregnancy.
