Life, doesn't it always get in the way?

I've been scarce in the last couple weeks, but around more this week. I've been pretty sick. So I'm really sorry if you have posted important things and I have not responded. I just haven't gotten to all the discussion notifications. Last night I planned to work on it but a migraine interrupted and I spend the rest of the night staring into a toilet. There are still a couple people who were in the path of Hurricane Sandy I've yet to see post, so I'm hoping they are okay. Anything been going on this week, last week that has really messed up your plans?

My car seems to have sprung a leak in the radiator. I don't really have the money to get it fixed right now since I don't have a job and money coming in to the house. It is hard to go out looking for jobs when you don't have reliable transportation to get there too. I hope you start feeling better soon. I just hate being sick. I don't know about you, but I feel like a big baby when I am not feeling well.

I have to say that I have been blessed with having a pretty smooth time of things the past couple of weeks. I do know what you are talking about though. When things go wrong...they seem to just blow up and EVERYTHING that could go wrong just does. A month ago, I was on a stretch of crap luck that seemed as if it would never end but it did....always does. I hope you feel better, Ambie!!

I'm so sorry you've been so sick! I sure hope you're feeling better by this time. I get occasional migraines so I know how bad they can be. I really feel bad for you. In answer to your question, lawdy YES! I, too, have been very sick but with something else, although nausea had a bit to do with it. I caught a cold the Saturday before Hurricane Sandy hit. My husband was in the hospital for emergency bypass surgery (yes, AGAIN) to save his stupid behind, from the Thursday before that until last Wednesday, when I brought him home. The NEXT day, last Thursday, still being quite sick with the absolute worst cold I've ever had, I woke up from a nap and the world was spinning violently. Even lying back down and closing my eyes didn't help. I couldn't make my arms or legs work like I wanted them to and I became quite nauseous. So, I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. After an MRI to rule out a stroke (which they really thought I had just had), they diagnosed me with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, which has to do with crystals in my middle ear that have become loose and worked their way into my inner ear and made the world as I knew it end abruptly. It didn't help that I had an extremely bad sinus infection, either. The MRI showed a huge amount of fluid in my sinuses so it was probably in my middle and inner ear as well which most likely caused this issue to happen in the first place. They put me on IV antibiotics right away. I was released from the hospital late Saturday because, as they said, there was nothing more they could do for me there. They told me I'd have this for the rest of my life although the episodes will come and go. I haven't been able to walk without a walker until just today or I risked falling over. Moving forward isn't bad at all but I was constantly feeling like I was going to fall left or right. The only time I felt no dizziness at all was when my head was perfectly still or I was looking to the extreme left. If I turned to my right it was like the symptoms started all over again with the room spinning. That, thankfully, is better now. I only have a slight dizziness now, only when I move my head. But, being so dizzy, I was afraid to do anything when no one was around. Both my husband and son went to work on Monday so I was completely alone then. I spent the majority of my day in bed. Tuesday, my son was home but I was also feeling a little better. Today, I'm feeling ALMOST normal again. Well, normal for me. I've been on massive doses of an antibiotic and an anti-vertigo medication. So, my plans were completely messed up, too. I've been home since Saturday doing pretty much nothing. Yesterday afternoon, with the help of my son (who caught my cold, poor thing), I made spaghetti which is the first thing I've done since last Thursday morning. Well, really since the Saturday before that since that's when I caught this cold and it was BAD. I did manage to make a huge pot of chicken noodle soup on Sunday because I figured everyone else in the house would catch this cold but that was the last thing I really did until yesterday afternoon. I DESPISE being so incapacitated! I've come home from major surgery before and washed the kitchen floor, did laundry, went right back to work, etc. I can only imagine that this was something like how you feel when you get a migraine. All you can think about is that pain and getting rid of it. Same with me and this non-stop dizziness. Don't worry about responding to discussions, just get better, okay?

Thanks for responding what with your own health so bad. That inner ear condition you mentioned, there was an NBA basketball player who had that. Said he went to doctor after doctor looking for a diagnosis. And they said that is what had given him migraines. I can't imagine being dizzy all the time.

Hi Ambie, The starter on my van went bad. It cost $300 to get it replaced. That was not fun. My best friend is in the hospital recovering from emergency gallbladder surgery. I hope you feel better soon.

I never post anything life shaking. Money got in my way this week. We were supposed to go on a trip today, but not enough money. It will be better to go at a later date. What have you been sick with, in addition to your migraines? I have seen most of my friends from the area.

Money always gets in my way! Plus my hubby is a big dreamer and seems to think we can do so much more than we really can. It wears away at me too, because sometimes I get sucked into his dreams, then it's a big disappointment when it doesn't happen.

Hope all is well now. Its always bad to be sick in bed, as I get so far behind when it happens. This week has been very busy and hope to get caught up with posting.

Life does get in the way, of life. Things are happening all the time and sometimes we need to slow down and see how they affect us and those around us. Sorry you've been sick, I hope you got to rest so you can get back to being you again. Yes, a hurricane did ravage the east coast and a lot of people lost everything. Life doesn't really mess with my plans because I plan to live everyday no matter what.

I have been stopped at these few interruptions and my experience with them wasn't good. Right now, I really hope that there are no more of anything coming to me, I hope it will be until the end. Anyway, I feel that migraine is worst headache happen, any meds for it?

Sorry you have been so sick. I've only had a couple of migraines in my life. My daughter gets them too. Stress I think. Nothing is new with me. We didn't have any effects of Sandy other than some heavy wind for a day it two.

That is true, life doesn't always get in the way we want it to be. Even if we don't want to get sick, we cannot avoid being sick for a while. For me, I also have couple of interruptions in my life even lots of it but I just embrace them learn to get by and still be thankful at the end of the day.
