Celebrating birthday is now become grand and popular method of self advertisement every where. Many people celebrate their birthday in a grand way to popularize themselves and this has become mushrooming everywhere. Really, I am not interested in celebrating birthdays and What is the need for that. Why should we celebrate this day and the day remembers my age and nothing else. What I have achieved so far and why should I celebrate the day? Do you think the way like me , else want to celebrate the day in a grand manner. Absolutely meaningless to celebrate the days when We BURDENED THE EARTH

I used to celebrate my birthday with my family no any grand celebration or whatsoever. Being with my family during my special day would be okay cause they are what important to me. No any grand expectation but a simple greetings will be okay and enough for me.

As time goes by, I don't pay attention to my birthday so much. Sometimes it is just like an ordinary day. Whereas I care about my son's birthday because he is important for me. I also care about my husband's birthday although he doesn't really care about it.

paying attention to birthdays is not a major factor because lots of people want to make a big deal with it.

I have not celebrated my birthday for a long while. It is a great occasion when we are young and marks our progress towards adulthood, but as we get older it has less significance. I may feel differently in a couple of years because I will reach the age of retirement, so I shall no longer have to get up and go to work everyday. However, for the present my birthday is simply another another day and I do not consider it to be very special.

I don't celebrate my birthday as most of the time if its my birthday then i don't have money I can recall celebrating it during my Childhood days but when i started to work i already forgot celebrating it, I don't even bother to visit the church to say thank you to GOD for another year due to busy schedule as maybe that's why I always run out of money if its already my birthday, my family used to tell me to at least visit the church and thank GOD so maybe next time i will and i hope i can celebrate my birthday again with a lot of money so i can invite a lot to attend my birthday

MONEY is not a big issue for celebrating birthday and it is purely a mind related feature. If you are self satisfied you can celebrate birthday .

Hi there. I somehow agree with you. But I think it is okay to let other people celebrate their own birthdays. It's a way of thanking God on the other year that He had given us. I celebrate my birthday in that reason but I don't celebrate it just to popularize myself. It's not needed anymore. LOL. I usually don't even friends over. Just my family and boyfriend will do. I keep it simple. But for others who invite a lot of people, maybe they just want to keep their love ones including their friends to have a feast and to celebrate with him or her, it is like a thanksgiving day for the celebrant as well.

Hi Manasha! Well, back when I was young I celebrate my birthday with my family, relatives, friends and neighbors. But it was not grand or anything. My mom would just cook meals and I also have cake :) But then as I become older, I just celebrate it with family. Just a few home cook meals, probably 1 - 3 dishes and that's all. I don't have any complaints about it because to me, birthdays are for kids, its nice to see a kid so happy on his birthday. But as we age, for my personal opinion, birthdays need to be more intimate and meaningful. Meaning just celebrate it with the once you're really close with like your family. I think that's how it goes.

Celebrating birthday with family and friends is usual and I mean the cost involved in it. It is not a big occasion at all.

I do celebrate my birthday but not extravagantly. In our country it is a common practice that we celebrate our birthdays. It's a way of being thankful for another year of our lives. This year though, I did not celebrate my own birthday. My wife was giving birth and we are trying to save money for the hospital bills. We even thought she'd give birth on my birthday, but it turns out it was a false alarm and our baby did not come out until 5 days after. However, I learned from my mom that my sister asked ber to prepare some food for my birthday even though I wasn't with them.

I do agree with you. I don't celebrate my birthday because in my view there is no importance for that. But at times I will also celebrate my birthday in a small manner by spending my time with my family members going for an outing, shopping etc. But most time I will spend my time in my home itself because there is no other joy for me than spending it with my family.

Thanks for agreement. There is no significance in any celebration of birthday function as only it remembers our parents unity.

Well, of course I celebrate my birthday. However, these days I don't celebrate my birthday in near the same way that I did when I was younger. Most of the time my husband, my children and myself will go out to eat to celebrate my birthday. However, there are some times that we will invite my mother, siblings and nieces along with us as well. Now that I'm older, I really don't see much point in having a huge birthday party.

I celebrate my birthday but in a small way. I might go out to eat or buy myself something I've wanted. Part of the reason I probably do this is society tells us that it is normal and encouraged to celebrate our birthdays. Honestly sometimes I think of how I'm getting older then it scares me a little.
