Injections work fast, i agree, tablets, liquids, capsules work slower, sorry to know you were ill; am happy you are ok. Hey why scared of injections; it was so because it was your fast. Many have that fear. I give injections to family members myself if needed, and take insulin injection daily. Usually injections (except few- those are oil based or emulsions) are not painful if administered properly, next time take it on waist, not on arms..

I used to have to give them to myself when I had a migraine (which is often), so I kind of got used to them. I never liked it, but they didn't bother me as much as they would have probably.

Hi riya! Your post tells about the reason of your disappearance from mylot. Your absence is noted quickly because you are here each day. Season is changing and many of us suffer from this kind of ailments related with change of season. Do take care of yourself and get well soon. I am not scared of injections, because now a days very thin needle is used to inject and these needles are not as painful, as it used to be in the older days. If I'm ill then I leave it for my Doctor to decide whether I need any injectiont or not. If he says it is required, then am left with no option. Have a great weekend and great Diwali ahead.

I am personally not scared of injections but I know some people who feel like fainting when they see the syringe or a few drops of blood. I guess it's a psychological issue that has to be overcome. I try not to strain myself when getting an injection and just breathe. Sometimes injections are the fastest way to recover from a severe illness.

I can not remember the last time I was been vaccinated before. I just remember the last time when I was in elementary grades. And I remember the pain was just like a bite of an ant. I remembered that time, I am not scared for the one who have been take a vaccination with me said that it will be for my sake also. I will be far from any sickness and I'll be healthy. And it's true.

I hope you feeling all better soon.. When it comes to injections or shots I am not scare of them at all.. Just in a hurry for them to get it done.. But I would say I would be extremely scared if for some reason the doctors had to put a needle in my back. I would be so worried about then hiting the wrong thing and no longer being able to walk again.. Or make the pain that I have every day worse.. I would be extremely upset..

I took up Dentistry in College. We obviously need to take up cases on extraction of teeth that requires the use of injections. I would get irritated if my patient would not subject himself to it right away when they have already been informed that t is needed for the procedure. But when I had a deep cavity that needs filling, I had extreme pain that I really need to have anesthesia. But feeling those needles pierce through my gums! OUCH! I hate it!

Jenny it is good to hear you did dentistry. I know I have also seen some doctors get very irritated when the patients do not cooperate with them. I guess when it comes to the person then only one knows how it feels.. hahha. anyway I had been through a very bad tooth ache also and tooth ache seriously unbearable. i did filling also. Now it is fine and no pain. Hope yours is fine too and no more pain. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Well to be really honest, when I was a kid, I was terrified of injections. Fortunately for me I had to do very little in the course of my childhood. Today, however, this fear, has completely passed. I do blood samples, and other types of injections without any problem. If, however, I must emphasize something that really annoys me in the samples for the analysis of blood, is the fact that it must be done on an empty stomach! So that day, in the morning I have to skip breakfast.

Sorry to hear that you are ill. Hope that you feel better with the medications the doctor has given you. Injections usually aren't painful but there are a few that can be. They don't bother me when I have to get one. Not afraid of them either. If it means a little pinch or being very sickly I'll take the pinch any day.

yeah I am feeling much better now. I don't know I have hardly got injections in my life. that was three of them when I was in primary school and one or two when i was sick years ago. it had been a long time since I became sick and I was really scared to get the injection but then I don't want to be in that sickly way all day long./ I needed to get better faster so i just closed my eyes and took it. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead..

Oh my, so sorry that you've been sick. I hope you feel better by now. Anyway, I hate needles, I'm so scared of injections and IVs. I would rather drink the medicines than have these injected on me. I think the last time I receive a shot is last September when I had my final vaccine against HPV. I'm such a baby that my doctor was laughing by the time I'm done.

I would not go to the extent of using the word "scared", but I do dislike injections. It is a rather odd really because I do not consider injections to be painful or anything else problematic, but the dislike has remained with me throughout life. I have had countless injections over the years, and without any problems involved, but for some stramge reason my inherant dislike has always existed.

I am scared of injection too, who isn't. Imagine me when I was young, my mother used to drag me just to get my shots. It's scary and I am not scared of admitting it also. But as I grow old, i understand that some ways to get the medicine inside the body is through injection and one day I might needed it.I rather sacrifice for the pain as it happens quick so I accept the pain of injection. It also used to extract my blood for study about my health so I do not have choices. I am scared but it depends on the previous experiences. Before I had my blood extractions and it went out fine I did not feel anything painful or the pain is just the average so on the next injection I am ready to get injected. But there are times that the hand of the nurse is heavy and she pushed the needle on my skin forcefully and that will make me have this traumatic experience with the needle, that makes me get scared to get injected for another session. That's how it goes on me, but I am still scared of needles and I am not shy to admit it.

I have had so many injections in my lifetime that they don't bother me much anymore. I just got out of the hospital last Saturday after being in there for three days and received several injections, including two in my abdomen and an IV needle in my arm where several medications were given. The only problem I have is in watching the needle go into my skin. Once it's in, I have no problem watching. I have also been suffering from a very severe cold, what I can only explain as the worst cold I've ever had in my life and I'm 60 years old! It has been exactly two weeks since I first had symptoms of this cold and I am still feeling it, although I am a lot better now. I was on IV antibiotics while in the hospital but received tablets to take at home. There is a virus going around here, too, and it is making people very sick. I caught it from my new granddaugher who is just 3 months old. Luckily, she did not get nearly as sick as I did from it. My son caught it and he was also feeling very bad, worse than normal with a cold. I don't know what this virus is but it sure is wicked! But, no, I am not afraid of injections because I've had so many. I don't like them but I am not afraid of them. I hope that you are feeling all better very soon. I know how these cold viruses can be, especially when they come with an infection/fever. It has taken me two weeks now and I am almost back to normal, although I still do not have as much energy as I usually have. I hope you get over yours very quickly.

riyauro: I am sorry that you have been ill. I am glad that you are feeling a little better. I do not like needles, but I am not afraid of them. I have a couple of health concerns that require frequent blood tests, so I have grown rather used to those. I have to get hormone injections on a monthly basis. These go into my hips. They are not real comfortable and I suffer through side effects for about a week after every shot. Depending on which hip the shot goes in, I will get a fairly good sized knot and bruise or feel like my rear end is on fire, but these are much less troublesome than the loss of sleep and suffering through other problems. I have had one injection that I do not care to repeat. I have damaged my right thumb. It is quite painful at times, but the injection to help with the pain is quite painful itself, so I choose not to have it. I pray that you will continue to get well.

oh i am sorry to hear your story. like you my mum has getting injection on the monthly basis as she is an heart patient. her back had become hard because of that and it used to pain her alot. poor lady was going through this. Now she is just taking tablets that are prescribed. It is that she still needs to go through an operation. Yeah some medication has side effects but we have no choice left as you have said. I hope things get well and better with you as well. i am feeling better today and that is why i have sat to do some mylotting. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Ugh i really do hate injection. Especially when a nurse inject my hand like injecting a wood. But same to you, i cant run from the pain when i really need it. but somehow i prefer to get injection than taking tablets because im really not good into watching the time and to remember when i need to take medicine next. I hope you will get better very soon. Have a nice day :)

When I was seven years old, I had a sickness- highblood with kidney infection. I remembered then, I had injections everyday for months. At first, I was scared but because I was injected everyday, I got used to it until now. However, I close my eyes whenever I have injections now. I don't like the sight of needles. :-)
