does anyone on here write poetry or write for fun? i'd love to interact with other writers in hopes of improving mine and reading some good stuff.

Well, I didn't get any response either. I find it a bit strange because it's an easy discussion and coming up with a reply does not require a great deal of effort.

i think i will have to agree about that with you, nitinnair. there are more of socializing fanatics than literary fanatics. maybe one day we'll get used to poems and reading them here.

I write poetry too! :) At first, I was writing it for fun but now I am thinking to publish a collection of it.. But I am confused about the market and how to make it sells. Selling poetry collection book is not as easy as selling novel book or short story collection I guess..

Well, I am also interested in writing poetry and short stories, though my usual timetable doesn't allow me to concentrate more on it. I was once very active on a poetry site and my poem was also selected as one of the 20 finalists from all over the world. So, that was a pretty cool experience for me.

Good that you asked. I've posted a sonnet (www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2717905.aspx) a few days ago and I have not received a single comment from it so far. Although I did not follow the strict rhyming schemes of classical sonnets, I still believe that this type of poetry can qualify as a sonnet.
