Hi ifa I believe cold will clear cold just like a diamond is used to cut a diamond or iron is used to cut the iron... I dont hesitate drinking cold water even when I have a running nose or a cough... and if I can get to any good ice cream, I will go for it. btw, For the cough I use ginger slices - keep them in the mouth and keep sucking in the juices... many a times that helps

I don't think eating ice cream can bring cold and cough in the month of November. One can enjoy their food as long as they take care. But as per ayurveda eating too cold things in this season increases the `vayu' which leads many health problems like joint pains, digestive problems etc.

When I have a cough I tend to avoid dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cheese and/or ice cream as it seems to irritate the cough and make it worse. So, I will not eat ice-cream if I am coughing quite a bit. However, if the mood grips me and I really really want some ice cream, regardless, I will have some.

A cough is one of the worst things ever, second only to nasal congestion to me. I never want to eat anything cold or sweet or any combination of the two when I'm sick. As much as I love ice cream, I'd wait till I'm better to eat it again, sticking only to soups and warm foods.

Yes. I do eat ice cream, even if I have cough. Someone used to tell me that you can always eat whatever you want, as long as you drink enough water afterwards. That thought have always been a very good excuse for me. =P
