A Tart in the Making

Hot, tasty, seductive and alluring.....I had a cheese and onion tart for lunch. Roquefort cheese and caramelised onion in a quiche eggy base all plonked into a pastry case. I wonder who comes up with such ideas. I wonder what outlandish tastes we could dream up. Chili and apricot or steak and custard...must be others.....

Oh, my goodness. I don't know who comes up with things like that, but as soon as I read your description, my mouth started watering. It sounds so good! I don't have roquefort cheese, or I'd start cooking right now!

All I have on hand right now is cheddar. But I have to go to the store today anyway!

That sounds absolutely heavenly! And to think, 20 years ago I refused to eat onions--no reason, and I'd never knowingly eaten them, but I'm glad I got over that! I love weird taste combinations. One of my favorites is a fried egg sandwich with rye bread lightly spread with peanut butter. The sandwich also contains sharp cheddar cheese, sweet pickle slices, honey, bacon and crisp lettuce. I haven't made one of these for a long time but I'm salivating just thinking about it!

By the way, your title threw me. I thought you would be discussing how current fashions make young girls look like ladies of the night.

Fried eggs sandwich in eye with peanut butter sounds fine although fattening. But a little of what you fancy etc! I must think up a fashion discussion now!

Yuck! But I should talk... When I was 12, my friend and I used to make these horrible sandwiches... peanut butter, process cheese slices, sauerkraut, pickles, probably mustard, too.

Yeah. We tried to out-gross ourselves. We may even have included potato chips (crisps).

hi pikey your title drew me in bad me but when ai read it I started drooling on my keyboard . that sou nd really delicious indeed. much better than the other meaning thats for sure.Chili and cheese mac a left over favorite of mine but yours sounds much better yet.Its early morning and I will go down to soupy oatmeal coffee toast or a pancake with one little sausage as I guess that do not want us to get fat. lol I know oatmeal is supposed to be good for you but this stuff looks like lumpy wallpaper paste. I have porridge every morning and it doesn't have to be lumpy. I have a spoon of honey in it too which makes it just sweet enough. Your breakfast sounds like the gruel that they used to feed people in the 19th century! Very Dickensian.

hi dear p1ke sounds like French or Swiss with the cheese and onion. I bet it was delicious. I dont like that eggy base so when I make my own I just use that great fat reduced pastry they have now and put a generous amount of finely sliced onions and bacon bits on that, seasoning it with pepper and a looot of caraway. Mmmmmm thats my own version of it......

Try dusting your popcorn with hot chocolate mix powder. Satisfy a chocolate craving without feeling guilty about it.

I am not supposed to share recipes here. But just make a pastry case and add an egg and milk mixture and then add crumbled cheese and caramelised onion. Put it in a hot oven for around 30 minutes and eat!
