What does a "diabetic Diet mean to you? What foods should/shouldn't be eating to control blood sugar?

It seems that you shall not eat so full. You can eat it little and eat it often. I have heard that the pumpkin is good for the diabetics and they shall not eat a lot of fruits, rice, cakes and so on. Besides the diet, the appropriate exercise is also very necessary for the diabetics.

I think it's about being vigilant about what you put in your mouth. The primary goal for diabetics is to regulate their blood glucose (sugar) levels because they can't rely on their bodies to naturally produce enough insulin, the hormone that shuttles glucose from the bloodstream into cells. With Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas stops making insulin, while with Type 2, the pancreas progressively makes less and less insulin or the body has difficulty using it (known as insulin resistance). Diabetics shouldn't eliminate carbs completely, though they should limit them and choose nutritionally rich carbs (veggies, whole grains) over empty ones (sugars, refined grains).

The current thought on this is carbs...you need to lower carb intake. My grnaddaughter is diabetic, and she can eat what she chooses, but she has to watch carbohydrates. I am also diabetic, but I guess I'm a bad diabetic, cause I eat what I please and cover with insulin, which is what my granddaughter does, too. The best 'diabetic' diet is a healthy diet, with lots of veggies and well balanced meals.
