So, the Christmas season is fast approaching and everybody is busy listing their Christmas budgets. This Christmas i am thinking of making some treats for my nephews and nieces they are 3-5 year old and really enjoy treats like candies. I am thinking of maybe making a home made treat such as Candy Canes because they are more "christmas-ish" and fit for the holiday season. But the question though is i am not a good cook or baker and i don't do/make it at all, so it would be my first time to make such. I kind of like the idea of making home made because it gives a little personal touch to those people you want to give it. So, my question is how to make a simple yet not complex candy cane treats? anyone here has some experience on making such?

I think its sweet to hand make them as it has more meaning. http://candy.about.com/od/hardcandyrecipes/r/candy_canes.htm Here is a recipe, and I think forming the form of the candy cane would be hard. I would even just do chunks of candy as it would be easier.

Hello, well i've searched some but it's pretty difficult to find some of the ingredients specially that i am not residing in the states and my district doesn't have that much foreign imported ingredients. But i am still looking forward for some alternative to it. :D thanks for your comment!

I've never done it, but I've seen recipes for a semi hard candy. They use two batches and color one red, leaving one white, then they roll them out into rope shapes and twist them together then form canes from them. I don't know what the exact ingredients are but you can probably find out doing an internet search.
