I just heard from the news about the Aman Futures scam. Like a lot of pyramidding scams, the victim is promised to get a hefty amount of money after a week or maybe a month if they invest money in the company. of course since you're paid for the first weeks, you will confident to recruit your friends and family because you can get a certain additional percentage for whatever they invest until one day, the company people will just disappear and run away with your money. This issue is really close to my heart because our family is also a victim of this scheme. i remember i was in high school when my mom opted an early resignation from the company she's working for. of course she got a big amount of money since she worked there for almost 30 years.then some people approached her that they can earn lot of money without doing anything if they just invest money on the company. at the first month, she really got paid so she asked some of our friends in the province to invest because it really is an easy business. until one day, when my father went to the company (he was authorized by my mom since she went to the province that time) the company people are gone. i believe they filed a case against these people they even went to the senate to seek help of then senator Jaworski but nothing really happened. glad our family friends who were recruited by my mom understood what really happened. i remember receiving subponeas at home but my mom is no longer interested with the case. she's afraid she's the only one who will represent the complainants. i don't really know what happened with the scammers. just glad that my mom invested only a certain percentage of her retirement pay. some of her office mates invested almost all they got from their retirement pay. i guess what i wanna say is don't easily believe in these "easy money" business because there really is no easy money. if you want to get rich, you have to work hard for it. there is no shortcut for success.

You are absolutely right. Pyramiding or networking business is already widespread. Some are legit and some are just scam. I was been encouraged by some of my friends who were very fascinated in those networking companies but then I always refuse to join because I am not that really interested into it. I believe with what you have said that in order for us to become rich, we should work hard and not let money do work for us.

I believe the establishment does not have a referral program, nor do they need one I think. Pyramiding operates on a referral system, which is not the case of Amon.

There are a lot of people invest to something, it should be a tangible things that can not depreciate, like lands, gold, etc. Since the value of this increment through the years of possession. But to invest a pyramid scheme, that's really a big lost.

Indeed I had seen a few of my friends who are investing into land and gold, are earning good income. But to invest into land is not easy since it is too expensive. I can't afford to invest such huge money at this moment.

Ah...this kind of scam again. I never believe with physical establishments that makes your money double or triple INSTANTLY without doing something. the highest legit interest I know of is 10% APY (98% APY for online establishments). You have to at least work/sell to earn money. This goes the same for those networking companies who have insane referral bonus systems.

my cousin joined a networking company and after two years, it's still paying. it's not like she invested money and just wait to get paid. it involves selling. she really worked hard for it and i can't really blame her for earning a huge chunk of money there.

there are still legit networking companies out there. it's just before investing, we should research on the proper agencies of the government like SEC if they are legit companies.

While there are so many real and legitimate opportunities out there , there are also a lot of scams both offline or online. Pyramiding, ponzi schemes and other forms of investment scams is a worldwide phenomenon and are not a unique problem of the Philippines. For those of us who are familiar with pyramid schemes there is another variation called High Yield Investment Programs or HYIPS which rely on new money coming in to pay their existing investors. Typically these investment will claim that they are into forex trading and will offer an incredible amount interest for you money that no real business model could sustain. Sooner or later, someone will invite you to what may seem to be a very enticing investment opportunity, but you need to be prepared to research what is real and what is not. First and foremost we must remember the golden rule, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is a scam. Be ready to ask the right questions. Failure to do so can mean saying goodbye to your hard earned money… forever! If there is, you will see big businesses investing in these programs, why bother going all through the trouble of building a company or running a corporation when you could pour in all your money here and earn 4.5% daily without the hassle of labor and operational problems. According to reports, at least 15,000 victims, mostly from the Visayas and Mindanao, are demanding the return of their investments from Aman Futures Group Phils. Inc. The scam that defrauded investors of P12 billion of their hard-earned money is caused by GREED—the greed of the officers of Aman Futures, the company behind the scam, and the greed of the victimized investors. The scam works through the offer of huge returns on investments. Aman Futures offered P25,000 interest for every P100,000 investment in just eight days, so in approximately one month you have doubled your money! Even if you own a gold mine, you can’t earn that sum of money. So investors with their greed overcoming their common sense, invest their savings—and lose them all in the end. Have a nice day. Ciao!

Yes, I have heard about this and it is really frustrating. Many people have become victims of such kind of scams. It is really important to check well and investigate first before investing you hard earned money on something that promises high returns. Things like these are often fake and are obviously impossible.

Iluvu, indeed we should never trust our hard-earned money into company that promise very high return. Because company that can provide high return usually can't last long. Imagine how they are able to survive and able to earn so much in such a short time. Always better to stay away from Pyramid scheme. They are only paying usually in the early stage. When they are getting enough money, they would suddenly stop paying without notice. It is always better to invest bank which gives low return but stable earning.

hi, having a big interest that will double and triple the interest of your money is such a scam, because they use it to make people to entice to invest money,so when a person will offer me like that good interest the first thing will come to my mind that it is a scam.

I feel very sad for those who got scammed by Aman Futures because they're already robbing the stores and bank just to get their money back.

I just dont understand why are there so many Filipinos who wouldn't learn on the news flashed everywhere that whenever a business promised you to earn more than what is in the market, that they should be aware it could be scam! I hope everyone is aware by now since all these news about the Aman scam is all over the news and let us just hope that they would be able to catch the mastermind and give the people their money.

I also saw the news, and its so sad that people can really stomach and pull off something this unethical and so very wrong. Its very similar to robbing these good folks point blank out of their hard earned money. But these scammers are really getting smarter and more creative to be able to stage this massive scam of this scale. You're right, when it comes to money matters, we should not only think twice but many times before parting with our money. And that there is no easy way of making money except when you win the lottery.

and those who won the lottery easily lose their winnings. maybe because they really didn't worked hard for it.

im sorry to hear what happened to your mom. this issue has been a problem nowadays and a lot of investors were affected. just before you join such companies, make sure that you first research the company's history, market status and all the aspects that you think are important for you to conclude wether it's legit and paying.

i THINK that is the pyramiding you are referring that was IN news before.but you know Failures comes success. We just must be wiser and thank you for giving additional information of other scam tactics on how they caught and attract people. We see networking which is longer in business and DSAP approved and legal.Just like Vita plus it has legal document and also endorse by Former DOH Secretary here in Philippines if I was not mistaken.I am not a member of that but I just read that as one of the legal multi-marketing here.and I think you too are familiar with that included in the list also is Avon too which is popular to in our country.

Yeah I guess though they can easily be identified as risky investments but these people are good talkers and they would easily sway people to believe them and the promises that they can earn this much really entices many to join in. With the early entries getting some real money from them then they would be interested to join in with a bigger capital only to realize this is the end of their money. It is simple enough to know that money cannot be doubled in a short period of time. Even a regular business entity will have to pass through times of losses during the course of its life so it is just to good to be true that a cwertain company would be able to double the money in just a short period of time. It will come to a point that the money coming in will not be able to pay the newer investors since it will crash if they do. So most scammers would exit the scene with all the investors' money in his pocket.

i heard this too last week and still it is in the news this week. more and more people are coming out as victims, each with a story to tell that they hoped that their money will grow but instead it all was taken away from them. very sad because the money might have been used for the betterment of their families

There are many scam activities that I knew be it online or offline. And one thing that I noticed is that these people know whom to approach for such kind of investment activities, they know whom to offer it. Most often the victims are those who have money at hand. But as for me, if the offer is too good to be true, I will not go for it. I would like also to invest, but I want it to be on my own. Not on companies offering big returns on investments. I hope our people would be more careful in dealing with these kind of people.
