I have recently brought a new car. Even though I did not know to drive, I went ahead and purchased it. My friend dove me home and he supported me to learn driving. I was able to learn and drive properly with in 4 days. He say now I can drive well in traffic also. Just that I'm not perfect while backing the car.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. I think people are often heard saying such vague things and i think in my view, no particular gender should be targeted for driving skills. Even men drive in such a way as if they are driving super sonic jets. More importantly we have to be cautious while driving and follow the traffic rules. Now since u have owned a car, go ahead with it. People like u can prove that woman can be better drivers than men. Happy Mylotting! What say?

The typical masculine and feminine style of driving IS different. Women are more cautious, have a worse affinition for estimating distances, they are always caught up in details. But, firstly, not all women are like this, and this thing is usually said by really chauvinist males. Secondly, this feminine driving style isn't always bad. It might slower the traffic down sometimes or block the way in a parking lot whilst a woman wants to park, but at the same time, they are really cautious and try to park the car AS PERFECTLY as they could. It is the male community who usually park the car in a huff and not really within the lines and the ones who are causing most accidents on the roads, moreover, they are the ones who are more prone to go drunk driving. I'm not saying all of them do, but there are tendencies. (I'm a woman, if anyone is interested)
