Call me old fashioned but I would much rather a face to face relationship with proper communication than using all this technological gadgets on the marketing, it takes away the true value of romance, especially when most of the words are shortened in texts. My girlfriend was always on her blackberry texting and posting on Facebook it actually put me off her, I would want to spend time with her face to face and yet she would always be on her phone.

How can it be true when you are not face to face with someone? Face to face you can usually tell if a person is lying or not, you can see their facial expressions and body language, behind a phone or computer screen you cannot tell a thing, and they are just words.

Well, I once used it very often the mobile phone to send sms txt, but never of love!   I needed to tell someone for a particular event, or cancel an appointment set, and other things like that. I know that now boys and girls send text messages to their peers also for the purpose of courtship. I believe that from this side, it is a good approach. A person can in my opinion be very shy and then be ashamed to confess to another for the purpose of an engagement (which could still be rejected). With the advent of text messages, a person courting a distance, thus does not directly address the issue.

Teenagers have their own phone nowadays. I guess you're right. They exchange messages with their crushes or boyfriends. I guess courting a girl with text messages is common already. I hope mothers will monitor their children's phones in case they forget their limitations. It's easy for them to set a date. It just takes them a couple of minutes then a date is already settled. I hope parents are a bit strict so that their children won't go astray. Many children get married in an early age nowadays.

yes its true sometimes i think its a bad thing because when kids get married at the early age or got pregnant their parents are the one who provide their needs

I think that it is okay to be texting the person you want to court but I don't think that it should be his only way of courting. It is still better to do it the traditional way. The courtship makes it more exciting and interesting. Besides, girls wants their suitors to be talking with them personally coz they are able to assess what kind of person his suitor really is.

well i know what you mean, for me its better to face the parents and get to know the family rather than you know the girl/boy only in txt then when time comes you need to meet the family you are not comfortable cause u never meet them

Some girls would like it, because they are grown in this world, and they would find it really romantic. But there are loads of girls who would find it too cowardly or not romantic enough. Personal communication is always better, and it shows more respect. Letters are cute, too.
