Double personality

On Sundays if I am feeling comfortable; I do some social work with a group of friends. Here in some temples, during festivals, some do animal sacrifice; they offer goat, buffalo, pigeons, coc*ks, many persons and organizations are trying to stop this custom and they are successful to some extent.
This Sunday we met at a friend’s home to discuss on this issue; he was associated with SPCA, Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; this unit of SPCA is no more here.
Well during the meet we decided what we can do; the first step chosen was not to eat meat, birds, fish etc; the friend said he is doing this for last 20 years.
Next dinner was served, it had chicken, goat meat in it; I was astonished to see this friend eating several platefuls; I didn't feel good; I left the place

I wonder why people have double personality. You tell something but in reality; you are not that in real.
Is there any ‘animal sacrifice’ at your place?

Different folks with different strokes. this is the art of the right hand stroking the chicken and the left hand holding the knife. WEll it is just like that, they are used to have this kind of life that's why it doesn't bother them anymore if they do one thing and say another thing. Well it is just hard to avoid these kind of people because they are now a lot like mushroom they are grow from one place to another. they mutate. LOL. just dont be affected by them. Be yourself that's more important. that just means to say that they can't influence you, your thoughts and your principle. Go Prof.

Oh yes, specially in the Philippines, when elections are soon going to be held. Whew, you will have a hard time counting the dual personality politicians. Saying this thing against the other but later on, they are together in the campaign. Such...

In our area, yes, the SPCA does do something. They will pick up strays on a regular basis for not only the safety of those animals, but also for the safety of the population as well. The branch in the county that I live in also has an office where you are able to take stray or hurt animals so that they can try to help them.
Additionally, and you hear of it on a very regular basis here, they will rescue animals from hoarder houses and even break up dog fighting rings.
I don't know if you've heard of Michael Vick but he was involved in a dog fighting ring here in the US that was broken up as a result of the SPCA and animal rights activists.

Hi Professor, There are no animal sacrifices here but we do have the SPCA, and it does a good job in taking care of animals and preventing cruelty. As for people with double personality, there are many everywhere who say one thing and do another. I don't care for that sort of thing either. Blessings.

It really upsets me when I see someone doing one thing and saying another. I do not do well with those who have such double standards. I am impatient with them and usually will ask them something like, "did I misunderstand what you said?" and see if they can explain the discrepancy. I do know when you do not eat meat for awhile and then you eat it all of a sudden like that you can get very ill.

Some people maintain a double personality for a lot of reasons. One reason may be for them to hide their true identity to some people. Another reason may be for personal protection from individuals wanting to hurt them. Some may have double personality for some negative reasons. I'm not sure what may apply but at some point in our lives, we want to have double personality. In our place, there are still some people who sacrifice animals. We used to do that but now we are already enlightened with the truth about sacrifice.

Maybe your friend should be a politician! It sounds like he is just saying whatever he thinks will get the best reaction and he doesn't have a lot of self-confidence. Many people do that if they are afraid of people disagreeing with them or not liking them. They want respect, but don't lead a lifestyle that earns it.

Some people can be inconsistent sometimes. A friend told me that he likes watching WWE, but then when I asked him about the current plots being run, he couldn't answer me one bit. After I told him about my opinions (including the plots), that's when he talked to me about it. Even his opinions were also off. It was like he's watching a whole new WWE. Now I'm wondering why he lied about it. He certainly was not trying to impress anyone with it, especially me.

While its not legal we have people that will hold dog fights (mainly using pitt bulls)
Last year our greyhounds that run in races a man owned around 40 of them. The track had closed for the season and the owner thought all the dogs would be gone at the end of the day.
The man that owned these greyhounds told the owner he would get them out the next morning.
Next morning never came for these beautiful dogs.
They were locked in this room with no air or heat they would need to survive.
It was fall but Florida still stays fairly warm and about 30-45 days later someone had come to clean out the areas and found these dogs that did not have any food or whater and no air to get to them
SPCA did come in the man is arrested til his trial.
So I understand your feelings.

yes "double standard personality" is common these days. They say one thing and do the exact opposite ,what ever they speak is completely different from their actions.
I really don't understand what they get from such activities. But we should be aware of such people.

prof, good to know that you are doing social service, i am not in this kind of association, but i too support the persons who is against animal cruel, i am strict vegan and not interested in giving troubles to the animals, sad to know that one of the member in your association taking meat foods, it is really unfair, if he is interested in meet foods, he is not deserved to join with this kind of animal protection system.

once in China, i have seen people selling crocotail meat at night. i am so sad about this because i just go out from the zoo. we human beings should protect animals, not just taste different meat. maybe your friend just tries to have some topics with you, so he responds as you wish. double personality makes people confused and angry to some extent. but anyway, sometimes, people have double personality doing good at certain time.
