Hello people! My question is does everybody dream? Do we dream every time we sleep? Actually i wanted to start this topic about dreaming and nightmares, because it has always puzzled me and remains a mystery to me.I hardly remember anything what ive dreamt during my sleep. Why is that so?Whats about you?Why do we dream or have nightmares? I agree that our daily activities do influence our dreams but what about those strange dreams which are very unrelated to your life. Does it happen to you too? Does dream has any significance? In fact ive heard from few people bad dreams are ill omen. Whats your opinion? Please share with me your strangest dreams/nightmares if you can recollect them and please give a rational explanation why do dreams occur.Hope you respond to my post..thanking you in advance.

Everyone dreams, we just don't all remember them. Sleeping and dreaming is when our mind transfers things from our short-term memory to our long-term memory. So many of the things we dream about are related to actual events that have happened. This doesn't mean they are repeats of the events, just somehow about things we have experienced. It's possible to teach yourself to remember your dreams, if you wish.

I learned that everyone dreams...in fact, we dream several dreams each night...but we only remember those that we were dreaming when we wake up. I don't know why we dream, and I don't believe dreams have any meaning. Someone once told me that a dream was your brain going on vacation.

I don't know if all of us dream. I do know for a fact that my boyfriend thinks he doesn't... but maybe he just doesn't remember. I dream fairly frequently, but there are days when I think I don't. Most of the times my daily activities and the people I know and the films I watch etc. do have an effect on what I dream, but I think there is more. I've dreamt about guys I don't know already - maybe I saw them in adverts or films, but I don't know them per se as people in my environment, and I couldn't point it out who they were. Also, once in my dream, my family's best friend, who's the sweetest thing in the world, was evil - I woke up crying, because I couldn't imagine how I could dream something like that. There was also one when I woke up crying - when I was with my boyfriend, and I dreamt being together with another guy, and it felt a bit like cheating, when I know it isn't... another nightmare... or nsession of nightmare I had (but that wasn't as shocking for me, it was rather a thriller or a really good adventure film) was that I stepped into the building where we had a flat, and it all changed... I mean, the layout and the structure of the building, and I didn't find my place, yet everybody acted like I'm a newbie, a new neighbor, and it was like that forever... it's like a recurring dream. I would be really glad to get to know why we dream, this thing fascinates me sooo much.

I don't feel that I dream often, but it could be that I do not remember it happening. A friend tells me that eating late can bring on weird dreams. But I've had some prophetic dreams that came true in real life not long after. So I believe that dreams can be useful sources of information. Best wishes! :-)

Does it mean elderly people dream less or maybe due to old age the ability to recall them is even less.By the way you should try to go out more often.A evening or morning walk daily is highly recommended. Thanks for responding mayemmanuel!

I usually don't dream and if I do, I don't remember a lot of them. The most significant one I had was really strange and I had it 3 nights in a row, the 3rd day I went to work and couldn't quit crying, I wasn't sure why I was crying or what was wrong. I got home from work and was told my parents had been in a horrible car accident that morning and no one wanted to call to tell me because they didn't think my long drive home would be safe on my own knowing what had happened. The other dream I have once in a while is so funny that I wake myself up laughing.

Dreams are experience by everyone. We always dream at night but we only remember some of them. Dreams are manifestation of our inner feelings. Sometimes we would dream of something "weird",but it could somehow be related to our life. The exact dream is not what is really happening or what has happened. It could be just a representation of an event that is important to you or something that your sub conscious mind has.

This is certainly an interesting topic hat you have started.I have had dreams on and off and I surely believe that they refelct what is going on in our mind sunconsciously. It is laughable, but after years of completing education,I still have dreams about exams and me not knowing anything which is in the question paper. Many times, while dreaming I realize that I am dreaming. In theses cases,I direct the dream and see what I would love to see. There are a lot of theaories about dreams and why they happen.Nightmares come once in a while, when the mind is so upset or preoccupied.
