20 days more to go and it's Christmas!

Are you counting the days? Oh, its already 20 days from now but I haven't bought any gifts yet. I want to go out and start looking for some gifts. Maybe I will on Friday. I don't know what to give my son and my husband. I guess I would also give a gift to my mom and to the rest of my husband's family and my family members. I guess that's a lot of money. Do you have any suggestions? I'd prefer cheap gifts because I have to buy a lot. It's okay if it only looks like a simple token. It's the thought that counts, right? Merry Christmas in advance everyone.

I'm so excited for the holidays! You're going to buy lots of gifts that's why you should buy cheaper deals. Have you tried going to Divisoria? The prices there are cheap.

No, I haven't. I'm working here in Baguio City so it's really far from here. LOL. I don't have any time to travel because I go to work on weekdays and home on weekends. Oh, yes. It's only a few days from now. Hope you'll enjoy your holiday with your family. :)

You're working in Baguio? Oh, that's far from Divisoria, hehe. I will visit there soon, and will stay for the whole day and then travel again to another place. I want to have a one day alone on my birthday.

Oh, also us at work. Christmas is only our holiday, too. So, I need to go home very early that day to be with my loved ones. I hope I can get home early. Maybe there are a lot of passengers that day and the following day. :(

I will say that I have got all the presents now, but like all shops here they are really busy, so a lot of mine were done on line.I have also managed to send my daughters out to get things for me, as they work in the town, so they were near the shops that I needed the things from. I have to also get lots of gifts every year and have to try to remember everyone on my list. Some people are so hard to buy for as well, as they seem to have all the things that they want.

Oh, that's good to hear. It's good that your daughters are working near the shops so you can send them anytime to buy something. I guess you're ready for Christmas. You'll only prepare the meals.

Yes, 20 days left and it's Christmas. I envy you because I'm working on the day of Christmas and I'm too far in my family. I'm here in Thailand and they don't celebrate it since that they are Buddha. Good for you. You can buy gifts even small as long as from the heart and it will be remembered and appreciated. Godbless :)

Yes, I'm going home early on Christmas Day and be back at work the next day. Oh, I guess you can celebrate it with them by using Skype or other messenger. Do they have internet at home? I guess you can talk to them on Christmas Eve. That way you can also feel the spirit of Christmas. Yes, I guess they will appreciate whatever I give them. The number of my husband's family members alone is almost 30 people last year. I don't know now. LOL. I have to make a list maybe tonight or tomorrow night. I wish you'll be happy on Christmas too despite of your situation. God bless you, too.

Yes its 20 days before Christmas and just like you I'm also trying to do some buying. Here in the Philippines we a place where cheap stuffs are bought - Divisoria. The place is also known as Chinatown. A lot of things can be found there but they are mostly from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. You're right that gifts need not be expensive and other people would like to do a "recycle" of gifts. This means they give those gifts that they had received before, they just re-package it. If you like this idea you why not try it.

Oh, that's a great idea. I guess I have to check my things. It's good to be creative and praactical as well. Oh, I wish I can go to Divisoria but I'm far. Hope you'll enjoy shopping your presents. Beware of pick-pockets. Maybe there are many in Divisoria nowadays, right?
• Philippines
5 Dec 12
Oh, so scary. They will really do everything just to make money this Christmas. Stay safe always.
5 Dec 12
Yes you're right, pickpocketers are numerous in that place and they are good disguisers. It's easy to suspect a goon but not a teenager, a child, or an old lady or aged man; lo and behold they are just there to distract you and oftentimes they have other companions at your back who are ready to steal your money. Well, they are actually everywhere and can be found even on places where you suspect they can't be there because there are few people and guards are everywhere.

I still have to buy for my son and husband. I have no idea what to get either one. My son is 19, has a very good job, and buys everything he wants and it has to be the best. He will soon learn when he is not living at home any longer. I am thinking about just buying him gas cards, as he is always running around.

Oh, me too. I don't have any gifts yet for my husband and my son. I hope we'll get them the best gifts this Christmas. Gas cards are not bad. He'll definitely appreciate it. Merry Christmas in advance.

I'm starting to panic because we don't have a lot of money to spend but I also don't have a lot of time to hunt for deals. I am going to make my mother-in-law and some other relatives felted wool dryer balls, because they are useful and good for the environment and I have most of the supplies, I think. If they are just token gifts, what about small Christmas ornaments?

Oh, yes. I guess I will include that to my list. I don't know what to buy yet. I'll just go window shopping soon and I will buy if I get attracted to a reasonable price. Oh, good for you that you still have your supplies so that you can make your mother-in-law and other relatives some felted wool dryer balls. I hope I can do such things. I guess I don't have any talent in doing such things. I wasn't born creative. LOL. Thanks a lot for posting.

Oh, that's my weakness. I don't know how to bake cupcakes, cookies, etc. I can't even cook. I can cook rice, vegies but not meat. LOL. My husband does the cooking at home. I'm glad he's a good cook. And if ever I can, maybe I don't have time to make them on Christmas. I'd only go home that day. I'll to take the second bus trip. If I can't buy everyone some gifts, I guess I'll just invite them to have lunch with us. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

This year I am so far behind, I haven't even started decorating yet! Usually at this point in time I have my house decorated and most of the shopping is done. Normally I buy things for everyone throughout the year and wrap as I go along. I try to pay attention to the little things everyone says that they need or want and see what I can do in that respect. This year, I think I'm going to get a little gift and give out gift cards, seems like everyone can get more for less money after the Holidays and they can get what they really want.

Yes, gift cards is great! Oh, don't worry. I guess you can still catch up. You still have a few days to decorate your house. I guess you don't have any problem with your presents anymore 'coz you'll give them gift cards. Relax and do things at a time. Enjoy decorating your house soon! I haven't decorated our house yet. I don't know if I'll buy some decorations. Maybe just a few. Well, goodluck to all of us. Let's enjoy this season!

On Friday, if all goes well, I will have some help to make the cupcakes. As a sugestion, give your loved ones something you hve made. I only buy presents to the small children. I am getting worried because there is still a lot to do and not enough hours in the day to get things done. I started my shopping today and hope to finish by Friday. I still have three more gifts to make and I will be done this weekend. I will be taking Thursday off from doing school work so I can decorate the house and get my projects done. On Friday I will be shopping and on Saturday I will be taking my Christmas picture, going to light festival and also a craft fair. Sunday I will be working on more crafts and relaxing. I feel that making homemade gifts are great because they are from the heart.

Homemade gifts? Can you cite some examples please? If it has something to do with baking and cooking, I can't. LOL. Oh, I hope you'll finish everything you need to do on time. I guess most of us are getting busier and busier nowadays. Wish all of us can do things on time and well. Thanks for posting. Merry Christmas in advance!

Yes, Christmas is so near and I haven't bought any gifts too...well, maybe I will just be contented on giving 'ampao'. I think it would be much easier on me compared to buying gifts which will take time for me since I have so many work to do.

Oh, giving ampao (a red envelope with money inside) is good. That helps you to lessen your work and your worries in shopping for some presents. I guess this is preferred by other people, too. I loved receiving new paper bills when I was younger. :)

marry christmas to you in advance. its good to hear you wanna buy more and enjoy a lot with your family members in upcoming christmas. No worry about the expense, if you got limited capital then buy suitable gifts with low price for individuals. that makes them more happy. Enjoy the christmas period.
