A little Privacy on the an Internet Shop

I'm actually residing in the Philippines where most people from different areas of the country enjoy the benefits of the internet. Like a simple person, who lives life as a student enticingly, I can afford around 2-3 hours of non-stop internet surfing only in an internet cafe or shop. Firstly, I don't have money to buy a desktop and connect a wireless network or internet connection that's why I resort on doing it on a shop. Secondly, I find it more convincing because I'm not that tied up on this thing, except if I have very important things to do in the internet that requires me to do such. Lastly, there's an atmosphere that I can't explain why I enjoy doing it on an internet shop. With all this things considered, you might say that I really would resort googling, searching, and surfing over the internet in a shop. However, the ugliest truth about it is you don't have a privacy on doing your niche. There are people beside you and, what's worst, there are individuals who look or take a glance on what you're doing. Personally, I'm not doing any offensive or disgusting when I'm using the internet, it's just that people are too ignorant and freaking offensive on why they had to know what you're doing. For example, your chatting with your girlfriend on a social networking site, because you know that someone is watching what you're doing instead of them doing their own business, you'll resort on not chatting for the meantime. As a result, my girlfriend gets angry on why I'm late in replying her chats. Gee, I guess there are just people like them who can't help themselves from sticking their nose on other people's business.

Those thing do happen, but the wise thing to do though is to find a internet shop that do value privacy for their customer. Those internet shop that value privacy for their customer, has cubicles just like in some offices nowadays so that you may have privacy. Secondly, although you mention you don't have the money to buy a desktop unit, why not a netbook which could cost you around Php10k.

I agree with you. He can buy a netbook with a wifi to save money. How much he spend money on an intenet shop than doing a netbook with internet.

Yes Ako, I know what you mean. The internet cafe is a public place where people come and go and of course you sit side by side with anyone who can easily look at what you are doing online. It's the price you pay for when you are in a public place. Sometimes, a user next to you will have many friends with him or her, say three or four and they will sit next to their friend, thus occupying some of your space, and sometimes you see these people looking at what you're doing. I really don't like it when this happens. I hate peeping Toms.

You guys are right but, if you don't like that someone is looking on what you are doing on the internet you can tell them politely not to. I managed an internet shop and if I caught someone doing this, I call their attention and luckily, they behaved or else they would be banned in coming our shop. Have a great day!

It's a good thing that there are people, like you guys, that understand my concern. It's just that I really need privacy and sometimes people, which they must depict it with themselves, don't get it. Worse, even if you already tell them about what they're doing, they still continue doing it. Gee, I really need a personal computer. tsk

good day to you, with reference to your post, well, i do also noticed that. hence, privacy is the least thing being implemented at this country whenever you are inside an internet shop. as a result, other people is somehow invading your privacy since they are looking on what you are working on. and this gesture must not be tolerated. i guess, those group of people who always sneak on others work is not really aware that a privacy is a must and to be observed at all times.

That is basically what our country specialize in. It's a sad fact. I'm not being mean, it's just that it is really wrong. Personally, I can't see myself sticking my nose to their business. I respect every person's entity and privacy. It's something that most stupid people do not like us. :)

Well, that's the downside of using the internet cafe. You could not control other people's action and all we could do is to make our time worthwhile.

I used to surf the internet also on the cafe when we still don't have computer at home. And that's also the reason why I saved money to bought computer. There's no privacy in the internet cafe. Like you, i'm not also doing any disgusting activity. I just hate it that other customers are looking at my monitor. Usually when I'm checking my FACEBOOK account, they even look at my photos. I cannot concentrate also on the person that I'm chatting specially my friends and relatives abroad because the customers are very noisy. When I'm writing blogs they also read everything that I'm writing. The worst thing is that they even give comments or talk to me regarding my blogs. And these people were so ignorant about the things that I'm writing. I have PC now for almost 5 years. There's no customers who are invading my privacy, but it's already my Mom! Hahaha. Sometimes she reads my messages whenever she's sitting near the computer. My computer used to be in my bedroom but Mom decided to put it in the living room.

I actually have a friend who has the same situation as yours. What's even worse is the computer is his personal belongings. It came from his wallet and the money he earned from doing article writing helped him bought it. It's just so funny that sometimes, the person you least expect to invade your privacy and get your property is the one that is in your circle of family. hahaha

We really must decide what to put out there. There is this browser Tor though, it hides where you came from and gives you some privacy, although it's slow we can use it when we don't want to be exposed on the internet. I think it's a very good program for that end and everyone should use it a lot, it's not really fair to track and spy on us.
