I've Been Paid $10 By TryMyUI

If you remember, a test came through to my inbox from TryMyUI that I had been waiting for since joining them a few weeks ago. I was on a waiting list, you see. I conducted the test on 29th November and reminded the site yesterday that I had not been paid, even though the test had been accepted and it said, 'paid' as my status, on my dashboard page. Today, their admin re-sent the payment and into my PayPal account it went. They apologised as well, which was nice but unnecessary as I DO trust them. I've missed out on a few tests from UserTesting this week as I've (either) timed it wrong as it's a first come, first serve basis OR they have come through during the night when I've been in bed. Even I'm not THAT keen! That said, I've been paid more times through doing the user testing than MyLot as it can take time (usually 2 months) before I make payment here. I must admit I'm not as active though, which explains a lot...before anyone moans at me lol.

What is TryMYUI? I wonder if I could join, and early a little. I am glad you got the money, and now have opportunities to further yourself.

I've no idea myself what the UI means in the title of the site but I guess it's something to do with web-speak. All I can do is test sites that I know I am capable of doing (nothing too technical) with the added benefit of having fun and getting paid for it, bit like on here really!

UI in this context probably means User Interface.

Got paid already, huh? May there be many more. As for getting paid by myLot on every 2 months, that's a lot more frequent than I am, so kwitcher bellyachin.

Look, you have to do what you have to do. If you make more money there then here, then you should be spending more time doing that other site. I know when you find time you will be here. Mainly because you really like MyLot.

I think they're winding down for Christmas lol. Not much demand for tests lately but I do go on MyLot (if I can) daily. I just cannot help myself!

I hear what you're saying. I cannot go a day without being on here. I just have that need to be here. I am sure most of us MyLotters feel the same way.

I looked it up, and unless janey corrects me, I do believe you have to be willing to have a video camera aimed at your screen while you're navigating a website they want you to "test" out.

I will not join sites where I have to use a webcam. The test involves using THEIR software and talking over it, basically by going through the set of tasks on the left-hand side. All the developers want to know is if the site is working properly based on the tasks they give me. I never have to submit personal information but to fill in forms and such-like I am encouraged to put something false in there, along with an email address I do not use anymore. I have never, ever 'bought' anything whilst testing a site. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have no referral link to the site as they're not allowed on here (apart from our profile pages of course) but the site's link is this:- http://www.trymyui.com/ To become a tester you have to scroll right down to the bottom of the page. People who want their sites TESTING pay a fee, testers do not have to pay a fee. Please bear this in mind if you come across any - similar - sites.

Congrats on the good payment. Having received the payment are you more likely to start being more active there or still depends on you and what your day becomes? I am busy working on a few sites that when I get paid it should be roughly $260 so hoping I get there before the end of the month so I can start January off on a good note. Best of luck!

It's all about my demographics or 'scenarios' as they're called. This is why I can't complete all the tests that come into my inbox. The fact I may get just $10 a week is fine by me as it proves I am capable of actually conducting the tests without any problems. If there were problems (pauses whilst testing for example) I probably wouldn't get paid. I have never been refused a payment yet, something I am extremely grateful for. UserTesting was the first site I joined (and I have done the most tests for them) so to finally move up the waiting list and complete one on TryMyUI as well gives me hope for the future. I won't join sites where I would have to use a webcam as that's not me at all, otherwise I'd be earning even more money I would think. Here's to a successful 2013..for both of us.

I don't have a problem with the scheme and I read up on the reviews. My only concern is if it only available on selected countries. If so, I can't join it if isn't international or don't limit people of a specific country for their services. I'm willing to give it a go as long as I can be accepted as a member.

I am from the UK but even I don't get tests to do on a daily basis. I would think that most of them will be for US residents. However, I have known tests to be for people who speak French or Spanish fluently. It varies wildly the types of tests that can be done if they meet certain demographics. I suggest you check the site out and see for yourself if you qualify. http://www.trymyui.com/

You have made a nice job of it.I wonder within how much time you have to finish the test after the test comes through to your inbox. It is great you get paid from mylot once two months.Mine is about six months or even longer.

I just went on the site, and its really confusing. Do you mind telling us/me on what to do?

All I can say is that to be a tester you have to scroll down to the bottom of their homepage and take it from there. Why do you think the site is confusing? There is a test they give you once registered (that you don't get paid for) that gives them an idea of how good you are at testing and you receive a score. If the score is bad you can re-take the test (as I did) to get a bigger score. This moves you further up the waiting list and you have a better chance of receiving tests sooner rather than later. The only equipment you need is a headset/microphone combination. Mine was only £3.99 bought off the internet and it's the best thing I've bought all year, as I could not do the tests without it. There are other sites where you need to have a webcam but I have not joined those as I don't think it's necessary. This is why I have limited myself to UserTesting and TryMyUI. Hope this helps.

Will do! I must admit, I was ecstatic when I received my first test to do from TryMyUI. I had to wait until I moved further up the waiting list..and for something to come in that met my demographics..so to get paid from a site similar to UserTesting gives me hope for a decent 2013. Obviously, I'm not going to get rich doing this but I'm pleased I've finally found something a bit different that I genuinely get paid for.

For each test you are qualified to take it will last around 20 minutes (you will see a timer as you are testing, along with tasks you have to follow) and I very rarely go beyond that time. It is advised that you do not try to do a test quickly (as in 10 minutes or less) as it will deemed you're only in it for the money and you probably won't get paid for not being a thorough tester. However, some tests do only last for about 15 minutes and you will get paid for those as they are specified.

This is not a referral link as they're not allowed but the website is this:- http://www.trymyui.com/ To become a tester you follow the link at the bottom of the page. You do NOT have to pay for this service; only people submitting sites to test have to pay fees.
