Since our TV is new since we just bought it several months ago, so our TV can go online. We can surf the net or watch the online movies. But in fact I seldom use these features because I found it is inconvenient to use the TV remote control to input words. I think the TV manufactures shall also provide something like keyboard so that we can take good advantage to use this kind of TV.

Hi youless, I have owned a LED tv recently. It's not the latest model that I can surf net on it. I just link it via hdmi cable to my laptop to watch favorite tv programs. I think it's more convenient than using the remote control to key in words. My friend has the latest model with touch screen that she can key in any words she wish to brows web or choose the channel she wishes to watch. She can send email on it as well. Just has the same feature as laptop. But it's too costly for me to get it Anyway I'm really content with what I have currently Happy posting

I'm lazy to download movies in either hard disk or usb driver. I'm happy to enjoy watching what ever program I wish from pps tv. I can continue watching the same episode or same program straight away beginning from where I stop watch before, for it's so convenient that I can pick from the history folder handily. Yeah, for the convenient not to move the laptop often, and worry that the hdml port might get loose if plugging in and out frequently. On account of this I have another laptop to surf net and bring along with me. Therefore it's flexible in the use of computers

In fact I prefer to input a hard disk or an USB driver to the TV to watch a video rather than connects it with the laptop. Since I don't want to move my laptop

Youless, my TV was bought a few years ago, so can't go online. But, i can plug in my pendrive into TV and watch movie through it. I don't plan to buy any TV that can go online since it is not easy to do the typing from it. I had seen this type of TV being displayed in the showroom. Besides that, the price is very expensive as compared to the other TVs.

Yes, using computer to surf the net is much better. I don't feel it is comfortable to surf the net using a TV. I don't feel it is comfortable at all. I still prefer either using computer or laptop. Sometimes, i do surf using my phone.

I do not believe that I can actually surf the internet via the television, but I can access Youtube and several other pre programmed sources. I also have it integrated into my home network so That I can access audio and video stored on my computer or laptop and play them directly. This is a very useful system and one that I constantly make use of. I understand the typing problem because I have visited Youtube and inputting text is very laborious, so I rarely bother with that option.

I don't understand why the TV manufacturer doesn't design a better remote control with keyboard on it?

That is really great to know your TV can go online. I am depending my desktop at times to watch tv program actually. In fact I am not aware about the new technologies with tv. (What a poor Gk of mine). I know the difficulties with the remote to search online and other functions. I hope tv manufactures will realize the difficulties and make a user friendly remote very soon. Congrats for your new tv.

Since today the TV is no longer so important for a family, so the manufacturers have to think out more selling points.

All this modern technology actually over-whelms me to be honest, maybe it's my age but I prefer good old fashioned remote control to switch channels, I do however watch television on-line, because I don't have an actual television, my Apple Mac screen is very large so I go on line and watch television through catchup tv then I can watch it when and where I like.

I think the TV manufacture shall think about letting use use the tablet or smartphone to control our TV. It can save more money.

No, my TV cannot go online, only my laptop can go online. Our TV is of very old model and the company is BPL. Online features are available only in the latest models of LG, samsung, sony, panasonic and so on. but i wish to have a kind of TV of that type, in future which will work in both online and offline modes.
