FriendsRe-United - Full Of Bullies If You Ask Me!

I don't know if the 'Friends ReUnited site is still going but my experiences of it were (thankfully) limited. It seemed to be full of people I didn't like when I was at school..you know, the bullies. There was one lady I sent a message to and she replied by saying something like, "Yeh, you were the one who peed themselves in class and had to be taken to the toilet to have your knickers changed..remember? We must meet up sometime!" I replied by saying I didn't remember the incident as I was about 6 at the time (according to her) but I did tell her I walked into a lamp-post on my second day of school. I remember that VIVIDLY even to this day. Needless to say, I never did contact this woman again although I'm tempted to check the site out, just to see if any of my 'real' friends are on there...'for old time's sake.' Haha! I don't have any female friends anymore..not since I moved away and I miss that interaction at times..and the other day (whilst blogging my 1988 diary) I realised why I suddenly stopped talking to my BEST friend Caroline at work. Apparently, I sent her a letter telling her she was a 'two-faced cow.' Oh dear..no wonder I've no friends NOW!!!!

Hahah Janey. The day I left school was the happiest day of my life - I was only a little lad a school - easy meat for the bullies. It was only in my late teens that I turned into the Adonis that I am now. I think getting in touch with most of the pr|cks I had the misfortune of growing up with would fill me with dread. The school was nothing but a holding pen for thick rugby loving inbreds. They were only taught to read and write so they could fill out benefit claim forms. My brother sends my the local paper and I can be sure of finding one of my former school chums in court for various offences - Scrotes! Friend reunited is a site I used to visit, but reading about the losers talking about their crappy lives and grubby offspring was soul destroying to be honest

I re-registered out of curiousity today and I must admit..I'm sat here thinking, "Why? What's the point?" This was confirmed when I found myself reading the profile of someone I cannot stand. She was an absolute slag and she says she's been engaged to Nick, her self-employed plumber for the last 6 years, saying she 'likes going out and having fun.' Yeh, right, she likes stealing her friend's boyfriends..her speciality in fact. I noticed her son's now 23..thank God she didn't have anymore as she once told me, "I don't know who the father is." SLAG! I won't be visiting the site again as I reckon most are on Facebook now anyway..and I don't use that either!

There were full of such people in school too, as I remember. If I can relive in those school years again, I won't care about the fighting stuff. I just don't want to cause trouble in school, not that mean I was scare of them. I can fight like a bad as*, or shed a little of blood, or get bruises, I don't care. If I get hurt, they will get hurt badly. I simply don't want my parents worry that time. Now, I still remember it, and I might fight for my pride too. So, ignore those two - faced idiots, and live your life happily.

On the whole school was actually OK for me so I was one of the lucky ones, probably due to me keeping my head down. Still relieved to leave though.

I have never heard of this site. I know I have been able to relocate some of my Childhood friends via Facebook, and even seen a couple of them last summer when I went to my 30th reunion. But personally there was one person there who said she was a friend, and I never remembered her, and now consider her STUCK UP, so it is better not having her as a friend. Personally sometimes I think we try too hard, but people are busy these days and to find a genuine True friend is hard.

Friends Reunited seems to have gone very quiet now since I re-registered so it looks like they're probably all on Facebook - a site I don't use. Mind you, the people I did see on there I wouldn't want to get in contact with. Absolutely no way.

I have had no desire to ever reconnect with high school friends, or even college friends. I am still in the same place that I have been for about twenty five years and if they want to find me they will, but they do not.I will not join Classmates.com or memorylane. I am friendly with people at work, and have a couple of friends I see a few times a year. That is about it. I have someone I need to contact though, so maybe I will send a Christmas card tonight. I know that you miss the income from not working, and you probably miss the social aspect as well.

Yes, it always hits home to me (especially at this time of year) how few friends I have..but at least Sandy has sent me a card from Preston. She came (with her husband) to our wedding do in 2008 and she was so much fun to be around..as I remembered her of course. I miss all the Christmas dos as it made working all year round worthwhile. I get quite envious when John goes on his work dos and they never have their partners there..but then again we never did either. New Year's Eve will be the ONE time we have been on a night out all year and the last time was..you guessed it NEW YEAR'S EVE!

I don't know but I can't see how she would remember an incident like that from so long ago especially when it wasn't happening to her. And anyway why would someone who supposedly was trying to reconnect with people she knew during her childhood start out with something that would alienate the other person, in this case you, right off the bat. I don't have any friends any more either. I would never try to locate people I went to school with. Kids are and always were basically cruel to each other. Hopefully most of them grew out of that kind of behavior, but from the experience you just had it looks like they don't.

I'm not sure what that first word meant but if I understand the gist of it I agree.

Yuk that notion feels me utter dread, I hated school, both at Primary and Secondary, I was badly bullied at Primary, and the bullying continued at Secondary level. I have absolutely NO desire whatsoever in meeting or communicating with anyone from school. If they had a re-union I would never attend. Ironic thing is that because of circumstances beyond my control I had to move back with my parents and where we live is where I went to school in. Fortunately I have never bumped into anyone from my old school, just as well. Mind you they probably wouldn't recognize me anyhow, I've lost a lot of weight. I do often think about my first girlfriend, I know it sounds soppy but she was 8 and I was 10 and she was the first girl I properly kissed, she lived across the road from me and went to the same school, until her parents moved away I was heartbroken, I suspect she's changed her name now. But sometimes it's best to keep feelings in the past and not look back.

I am a much nicer person then I was in high school. People change so just because someone was a bully in school (I wasent) doesnt mean they still are. Sometimes they still are but not always. I have never heard of the site friends reunited but everyone I know is on facebook anyway so I dont think I would even bother checking out a new site.

Friends Reunited was around long before Facebook but, judging by how little is going on they've all defected. I won't go back on it..I've seen enough..which ain't a lot to be honest!

I was not a great student and my school days were certainly not my happiest. I don't think that I am in more than Christmas card touch with anybody that I knew whilst I was at school. I can think of nothing worse than friends reunited because it would all be terribly false. I remember about five years after I left school going back to a school fete. It was full of prematurely middle-aged men boasting about how successful they were in their chosen professions. I would not be discourteous to someone that I bumped into from those days, but I have no great desire to go looking for them. In any case I was at an all boys school and when it comes to human beings I much prefer females to males!

Oh, most of the people with whom I attended school weren't worth much of anything then and still aren't worth much of anything. I don't stay in contact with them, and I shudder to think that they have all reproduced--most multiple times--by now. I do hope that their offspring possess both functional brain cells and souls--things their parents seem to lack.

Well said. I re-registered on Friends Reunited but I won't be going on it again. Full of losers..one in particular who I actually grew to hate in real life!
