How Can You Keep the Recent Connecticut Shootings from Happening in Your Area?

I heard today in church about the shooting of 20+ people in Connecticut (sp?). As much as our pastor was 'obsessing' over the loss-of-humanity there, you would think I'd have heard about it beforehand ... heck; maybe I did, but just didn't pay it that much attention. But I think Pastor Mary Ann HAD to obsess over it to get us to learn what we might do to keep it from happening WITHIN our realm of influence. (The solution wouldn't have seemed as important if she HADN'T obsessed on the problem.) One of the causes she fixated-on was the ease with which the attacker acquired the handguns he used---two of the five handguns legally registered in his mother's name (the mother whom he shot directly in the face). If we completely outlawed handgun possession---true, hardly-any criminals get their handguns 'legally'; but where would the criminals GET their guns if they were not at-first legally possessed? Would the Connecticut Shootings have happened if the shooter's mother hadn't owned FIVE handguns? What else could've prevented the shootings?

Here in mexico All public schools are locked gated and with one or more policemen. its been that way for years. You have to knock on a gate to be let into school here. it would be very hard for a gunmen to get in. As most of the time the police is near the main gate.

I don't think that system would sit well with Americans, not unless there were NO OTHER WAY to insure no shootings.
