We were planning to have vacation almost a year now. We save money for it and its successful. Now were so ready to go. My 4month daughter got her passport is here. The problem is just my husband's boss at work is in vacation at the moment. No one knows when he's coming. There's also a substitute for the boss but he can't make a decision or approval for the plan vacation. I just wanted to go away to this cold, icy place here. Hope, the boss is back and we can book immediately then were off to go to the sunny, tropical and sparkling beaches in the Philippines :)

Me too! This year my son and I have not take any vacation yet. I truly hope we can visit Macau, Taiwan, Japan or New Zealand. But time is running out as he is starting back to school early next year. We can't really feel the long holiday. So I decided to just send him to one of his favorite workshop for him to learn something of his interest. I hope your husband's boss be back soon. I wish you and family a great holiday vacation!

Have a mini vacation. Turn up the heat in your house. Wear your bikini. Bring out your beach towel, picnic basket and cooler and whatever else you bring to the beach and just pretend you are having a picnic at the beach - right there in your living room. Do something a little different, instead of bemoaning of your situation. Create your own mini vacation anyways.

Well, to make a trip on my own (my main target has always been the USA), has always been my dream. Unfortunately, at least for the moment, I did not ever materialize due to lack of money. But in my opinion it is never too late. I'm pretty sure that maybe in a year or so, however, I can put aside a fair amount for a short stay abroad also!

Your little daughter is so blessed can afford to go overseas. You are really a well planned mum and already ready to go. I haven't been to overseas before, eversince I am very small because my parents can't afford to go overseas. I hope that one day I can go overseas. Anyway, I am not blaming my parents for not bringing me to overseas because I understand of their situation.

That's a good news! nice to know that you're going to have a vacation but what's sad thing is that you don't exactly know when. I would be hoping that your husband's boss will arrive soon so you can take the vacation you want. I'm also happy that you choose Philippines as a place for vacation. Hopefully you can have a great stay here.

I know completely what you mean about wanting a vacation and wanting it to be now instead of waiting until later. I've been in that situation for a while now, I want to go anywhere but here if only for a few days. However, our finances are the thing that is holding me back right now. Hopefully at some point next year I will be able to afford a vacation, but for right now, I just have to deal with the winter weather and wish for the spring to come and start to bring things back to life again.

at this moment of my life, on a check list, this is my pending. I have priorities before to have a trip or a vacation, this doesnt mean that I dont need it, because I really need a stress out, my type of life is very demandant, so I feel that I have a bag on my back. I prefer to save a little of money to the future than spending at now.

Liezel your kind of situation is not unique. It is not uncommon that your husband's boss is away when he is supposed to be away on leave. Ask your hubby to work with a leave plan, which he should annonce at the beginning of each year. Is the boss on email? Perhaps he could email him about the leave and copy the substitute. Whatever the case, surely, it is holiday season!

I hope that the boss gets back quickly as well. Since you and your family have planned for and saved for this it would great if you are able to go. Especially when we have looked forward to something like this for along time. Hope that your vacation goes great and have fun relaxing on the beach.

oh, i understand your feeling now since you are excited to travel to warmer places. I think if your husband wanna get days off for holiday, he should ask his boss 1-2 months before. right now, he has no choice by waiting his boss. Just be patient, and i think all your family will get holidays soon.
