I had never heard of the iron transfusion treatments before my doctor forced me to go for them. Its an IV where over 2 hour span they pump iron through you, I go for 8 weeks, and then get blood work done. I never noticed a change but some say just my colour in skin, and just me waking up earlier. I would normally drag myself out of bed at 10am, and just be exhausted, not I am usually up 730 - 8am, and full of energy. I do have 4 more weeks as normally its 4 weeks, and you are done. But my side effects put it back another 4 weeks with half the dose. Have you had the treatment? Any side effects? Did it last?

I'm a nurse and I have never heard if getting iron infusions. What color is it? I don't even remember giving ferrous sulfate in injectable form, but I believe it is given Z - Track so it doesn't leak back out if the tissues. Never heard of it in IV infusion.

They have two things one is a clear liquid which is in the bag, then they injected the vile of iron into it with a needle (its a brown syrup liquid).

No, I haven't had this treatment. And, I must say, I had not heard of it before your mentioning it.
