Almost everything your computer does is a virus (program that operates without your say-so to do something other than what you tell it to)!

It is true that many viruses come through email. For this reason I do not open an email that I get from a party I do not know. I don't like to take that risk. I also do not download from sites that I question their safety or validity. I am very careful, yet I still get viruses from time to time!

You are right we should take care before downloading any file or game. Because mostly virus came in a file or in software. Thanks to share your view.

Hi SR Downloading from Internet means inviting virus is not true. The correct one is downloading from any unknown site or unknown source is like inviting virus. Personally I used to download many stuffs from the Internet, but I haven't face any virus problem since long. In starting(when I was newbie in computer) may be I have faced it when I downloaded something from unknown source but now I know which source I need to avoid. So if we follow good site and not go for any unknown site for downloading purpose, I don't think we can face virus problem. Plus we can have some good anti virus like avast which can surely protect you when you by chance go for something bad.

The level of risk involved depends on where you download from. If you are purchasing software from an established online company then yoy can feel secure, but if you choose to download illegal material from warez or torrent sites etcetera then there is a high risk of virus. It is important to maintain a good anti virus program and scan the system regular if you choose to take such chances. Also keep a constant backup of you system and files so that you can restore them in case of a disaster.

Actually the worst viruses that I have ever gotten came not from downloading but from just being connected to the Internet. I have never downloaded a game so I don't know about the risk there. But I have downloaded many videos and movies and have little problem, but I am careful about the sites that I download from.

Hi we can't say in which way we get the virus it may be through mail , downloads or even if we visit a web site all the 3 ways there is a possibility. We have to be aware of that by installing anti virus utilities in our PC .

I am using computer since my 2nd grade in school and i can say that its simple. Paid downloads are safe while most of the free ones contain some. You just need to secure files in your pc. The most important ones that you really need then you can download anything. For me, it is adviced to buy a licensed anti virus or internet security.

I don't agree with you as downloading from Internet means inviting virus. Its depend on Source from where you are downloading and what you are downloading. See, there is always risk in our life, as what ever we do in our life, same applies to computer, Internet world or downloading something Life=Risk The best thing in life doesn't happens unless you take risk. You should have come up with discussion as how to make my system virus free, what are does and don't to make our system virus free.
