Wikipedia Lite

I've found wikipedia to be a great source of information. Yet, sometimes, I can't cite it as a source because it's not 100% reliable. When I try to search things up to understand, it gives me this straight up long way of answering my question. I've always wondered if it was possible to just condense their answer and give us the easy way out. I get so confused with the long answers that I just give up and go to another site. What does everyone think?

Sometimes i find Wikipedia very great but sometimes just like what you said it takes me long time to find out the information i really want, but anyway, its great and i still can not find any other sites like it and if anyone has one or more, could you share it here? thanks a lot

Hmm. I think that what you wrote is somewhat true but at the same time you yourself can do your own part by actually reading those LONG answers and use your summarising skills to condense it. Do this often and you will find that these LONG answers are not actually that long at all

It depends on how complex a subject you are looking information up about. Wikipedia should always be varified elsewhere. If you zoom n on one subject you are sure to find good sites with good information. It really depends on the subject. Maybe these subjects you are finding such long definitions on are ones you shouldn't be looking up as yet. Start small and work up.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes i agree to your point that it needs to be condensed but since Wikipedia deals with providing detailed info on each matter so u need to have info in details. Besides i cannot ensure if all the details provided in it are accurate or not but yes as far as my knowledge goes i have always found this site beneficial and precise for me. So i have found Wikipedia very much helpful for me.

I never get my information from wikipedia,being that anyone can come in and edit the information.I was looking up information about a old group I listened to as a child and someone trolled their page saying they were cross dressers etc.I go elsewhere for my information,coouldn't really take it seriously after that.
