At least in ODI, to a large extent, freshness can be seen in Indian team. And believe me a hell of a burden has been removed from Dhoni's shoulder. Of late, there is always some kind of rift if Sachin plays ODI, who to drop, Sehwag or Gambhir. Now Dhoni can compose his team calmly and with great authority. Suddenly, all of you will see an energetic Indian team and players fighting for their place in the team. Since ODI is going to take pride of place, Dhoni is going to be there, where he is the best. Dhoni and his young brigade will go on the rampage which will blow away Pakistan and England in ODI.(not talking about T20). Sachin should retire from ODI with his bat held high in his last match, but unfortunately for him, this doesn't happen.

How can you say its a good news rather its a sad day for Indian cricket as the legendry cricketer retired from ODI.Don't forget that he is the only batsman to score 49th century and a 200 in 50 over ODI match. Is it not great ?? If you think Dhoni's job will be easy now you are not very correct. He will definitely miss Sachin in the dressing room to give him suggestions in critical time.I don't see any player who can fill the void generated by his retirement.

I think most probably it is good to rotate the players than to retire them and to keep them in the team when they are not in form. I would have suggested Sachin Tendulkar to skip some series to increase the number of years he can play. I think Sachin Tendulkar should have played at least two years and should have played in between series or one of two series.
