Hi, This is my discovery on this subject as how to get in festive mood. Friends from India, clearly understand my emotions as even festival season is started, still we are not able to enjoy as what is happening in our country. The news which is in air is very much disturbing to all of us, i feel hesitate to check the newspaper as every other days paper is full with shocking news. So in order to cope up this situation- divert my mind, i make myself busy in different way, like example, i keep searching wallpaper application in my handset, i mainly enjoy nature wallpaper or wallpaper related to festive season The best part watching those images related to nature, like flower, rising sun, or Christmas wallpapers, i observed very positive change in me and it actually made me relax and happy. I guess this works as therapy, i will soon try this again in my life to see how effective it is working for me. I felt this to share with my friends in mylot. I want you to share with all of us, as how to get into festive mood in difficult times in our life... Thanks in advance! December 24, 2012 23:43(IST)

It is great that I neither have a Television nor any newspaper delivered to keep me sad anytime and also I dont get swayed by what the media shows. They all do it for their sakes. And as such, I had no issues to celebrate and be in the festive mood. The only time when I am not in a festive time is when I am ill and feel really down.. but fortunately, that happened only for 8 months at a stretch and sometimes in between but the days are numbered. Things happen and will continue to happen whether they are sad or bad or happy or good. Today, I spent a few hours at the local orphanage and was really happy that I did something in my capacity for something which brought me happiness, and smiles on some faces. I feel that this is a kind of celebration every one should go for... All other things, like buying sweets, clothes and other things for self... are okay, and good but then spending some time with those who have not many to share with is something which feels me more blessed. Try that and I am sure, you would find yourself much happier and content... the way I am feeling right now

Hi Sid, What a great thought. [thumbup] I feel this is the best way to live and one should contribute towards society. I believe charity starts from home and i always try my best to help those around. I follow different ways and it actually make be very happy, when we bring smile on faces of others. You know from last few days i am very much occupied with many things and even i skipped the news, as was not checking news papers from last 2 weeks, and i got such msg on what's up and compete narration of incident and i felt really bad, as i am so ignorant what is happening, so after that i checked the newspaper, and checked (read)actual details and after that, i was in completely different mood - it was so disturbing After that i thought sometime it is good to be ignorant as after knowing what is outcome of this. (sad)

Hi khushi. Well you are right. Actually the problem is with media here in India. In one of the lecture series I heard one of the speakers saying something in this regard. I don't remember the name of the country but he said that the country was having war. But in the front page had the cover story of a physically disabled person who was able to achieve great success in life. I dont think any such thing could ever happen in Indian media. Anyways I agree with you that festivals are good way to brighten up your mood. Have a nice day ... ~SuperShames~

Hi Shames, I agree with you. But in this case media handled this issue in very sensitive way and this information which i got on what's up was more disturbing, then what is in showing in newspapers or TV. I guess many of friends understand it was just gang rape, but the girl was not only gang raped in moving bus, but beaten very horribly as they also inserted big iron rod which got passed through her body which damaged her small and large intestine. Doctors already removed small intestine, even if she survive, she will never able to live a normal life, she can't able to consume any solid product and will have to depend on liquid only for entire life.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand how difficult it would be for the Indians to be celebrating Christmas when there is so much turmoil regarding the molestation case. In my opinion it would be too difficult and tough to get into the festive mood and i would like to mention here those who want to celebrate should carry on with their celebration and those who want to maintain peace should carry on with their protest and agitation. What say?
