What new or special things do you have for Christmas?

Merry Christmas, all my mylot friends! I believe many of my mylot friends know that we Chinese live the Spring Festival every year, which is the new year of the lunar calendar.Civil servants always have a weeks' leave, and what they usually do is to return their hometown to stay with their parents and siblings, and during these days, they visit some relatives or friends. But quite a few feel so bored because of the almost same things that they have to do each year.So more and more family decide to have their Spring Festival outside by travelling or at the restaurant to avoid the heavy housework! What new or special for your Christmas?

Merry Christmas to you as well. I think this Spring Festival is a great idea. The US could use such a time. We don't seem to spend enough time with family. I think this is one reason young children are like they are now days. Nothing new or interesting in my home. My daughter and her boyfriend and my granddaughter and hers are here. My grandson is with his dad.

I hear that more and more foreigners celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival,it's more or less fresh for them,I think. Oh,on earth it's the most important to spend the gold time with family, and it's the second to be new or not.

It's always good time to have more festivals that can make the family stay together.

Nothing special again this Christmas. We only had two children, and neither of them could come see us. They each have children of their own and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. We could have gone to see either of them, but my husband's health does not permit traveling. On the plus side, we received baskets of food from two different neighbors and a sack of sweets from the youth group at church. We also received gifts in the mail and phone calls from our children and from friends. We were alone, but not forgotten. Maybe our Christmas was special, after all.

This year really was a different Christmas for us because we didn't have the opportunity to go to Cincinnati to celebrate with my father's brothers and sisters. Thus, we decided to start to make a new tradition for Christmas Eve of our own. We went to my mother's house and the children got to play with their cousins. In the evening, all of the kids sat around the dining room table with my mother and worked on decorating some cookies for Santa. I would say that it was a nice change of pace.

Hehe, that's really a different way to celebrate Christmas with some many children staying together, and what they could do was so fresh decorating the cookies.I think that must be one of their most unforgetable traditional festival!Have a nice day!

We cannot keep all the family staying together all the time since each of them has their own life.Have fun!

Yes,we all set store by the Spring Festival, but I think for people my age ,many don't want to break the routine and few plan to travel during the golden week holiday when there are large crowds of people everywhere. What we think of most is how to please the elderly and children during the Spring Festival.

You are quite right.During any golden week holiday there are always crowds of visitors in the sight splots in China as well as our Spring Festival.I think there's really something wrong for our country's holiday system.I hope it can become better soon.

Well, this Christmas we have a new member of the family. So it is extra special. We are celebrating with the 18 month year old girl my sister and brother-in-law just adopted. So everything seems extra special.

New things during Christmas----well, those would be the gifts given my friends and families. Old- well, the family traditions remained. I am not sure if my family would break from it. But I do not see any reason why we have to change anything as the whole family is still okay with going with the traditions.

Wow,you are more than smart!I don't agree that our traditions have to be changed a lot since many of them still do good to us.But there are really quite a few who want to change our traditions,so I just want to know what you think of it by my discussion.Have a nice day!
