Ebay is a good start in your quest for online business; you just need a good traffic and positive client feedback so that your store will get noticed by other online buyers. Before starting your luck in ebay selling, you need to know what items you want to cater for your target clients. For instance, if you want to sell clothing for women, then you should post women’s garments that are on trend do not include items like gadgets because that is not what your clients want. Prepare your payment method, it’s best to put information on your item post on which payment method is flexible to your clients. This could be: PayPal payments, online banking, money transfer (e.g. western union), or cash-on delivery. Know what delivery carrier fits your items: If you opt to go on air mail, then it may take time that your items will be sent to your clients, so choosing a delivery carrier is one way convenient and fast. You can choose from variety delivery carriers such as UPS, DHL and others. Lastly, constant communication to your clients is most important, this will determine you if you are a good seller or not, by communicating more to your clients they feel the trust in your shop and they know that your items are on good condition.

Yes, it's a good site for freelancers! If you have a desired skill on various internet jobs, then you are good for Odesk, however you need to apply on the job postings.

To have a more secure mode of payment better to sell it on ebay. I am a member of ebay and I love the way members used the ebay service. Simply open your ebay account and read some instructions in your way in completing your registration.

Actually I have sold several things on eBay and a couple other selling platforms with moderate success. I am not saying it is moderate success because they did something bad or wrong, but because I do not have the time to put all the things I want to online. If I took a little more time I am almost certain I could do good. I have listed about 5 or so items on eBay and sold at least 3 of them. Also, I had success selling on the Amazon Marketplace. I have sold about 4 books, a microphone, and a CD-Rom Game. All of these are great options, also including a site called Yardsellr. The more you look into it and find good things to sell and make a profit with it can be greatly worth it! Just look into it, give it a shot and it can be well worth your time!

I have always wanted to sell items on ebay too, but I don't think its so user friendly. My daughter has sold a lot of things on craigslist, and has done really well with that. I've always wondered about shipping costs on sites like ebay.

Forget Ebay. Buyers will ignore you unless you get a good feedback by selling items at the lowest price as possible. And Ebay will hold your money for 21 days until you deliver the items and receive the feedback. There are many cases that buyers scam the sellers by opening a Paypal dispute therefore reversing the payment then you end up loosing your items and the money. Try other sites like Bonanza.com, Ecrater(which is free) and Amazon (but you have to pay a fee to use your own photos).

Yes, you can sell on eBay, I have always thought of doing this. BUT there is a fee invoved which stopped me from doing it. If you think the items will bring you a profit, and override the cost of the fee then go for it.

Also i have some old coins which i want to sell as well at good price. As i know people sell fake coins but i got these collections since my grandmother and they are genuine. But i don't know how to start, how to send things, the packing etc and where i will get the deposits.

First you need to start an E-Bay account. Then you have to start selling there. But remember, like other sites, you do need to build up your reputation as a reliable seller. My brother sells things on E-Bay and he has been getting more and more frustrated with them. They keep upping the fees and he has been making less and less a month. I started an E-Bay account and actually sold something. But I never was able to get to the point where I could have my own E-Bay store. And it was getting real stale to me. So I stopped. I use Yardsellr.com to sell on if I need to sell anything. It is also time consuming, especially when you are starting out.

Hi Maria, we just started selling on ebay this month. There are 2 options we were dealing at first. The methods of payment which is bank but we got no paypal. So we choose bank transfer but before we need to have 50 positive comments (means, we have to buy 50 items in ebay) If you choose PayPal, you can directly sell items which is good, no need 50 positive comments. So you choose the payment, only 10 items you can sell per month (I don't know for business purposes, coz we are private sellers). About the selling, they have to bid your item until the time of the item ends (you can decide, ex: 7 days). Hope you understand my explaination
