... I have watch an episode on one of my favorite gag show on tv about a mom who carefully took an extra care on her dog, bringing her to the vet and lavishly bought her a lot of doggy stuff. But... her only son is almost being neglected. She was more attentive to the needs of her dog rather than her own son. I was sad and thinking co's I know that in some point that episode was true. Some people would like to impress others even in point of neglecting what's essential and beneficial. What do you think guys?

I often wonder why some people spend too much to their pets and neglects people around who needs more attention and care. I do not condemned all pet lovers as I am one of those who loves pets- but to the extent of pampering my pets more than my beloved ones.

So true, that is one more question in my mind too. I know I don't have to mind their business because each one of us has our own thing, but I just don't understand why some able people or well to do people has compassion on animals more than human in need. I know they have their own reasons, and this is just my own opinion as well, or probably I was once in the shoes of those who needed help. As for me though, I cannot welcome any pets in my house right now co's the cash I'll giving in for the pets is very much needed of my in-laws. I do hope one of these days ... they'll be able to get on their feet.

I have no beef with people taking care of their pets, as they should be taken care of and loved like any other member of the family. I do have a problem with children being neglected because one is spending to much time, money on the family pets. It is a beautiful thing to have both pets and children, but children should not be neglected so the animals can be taken care of. And I don't find it impressive to take care of the pet over the child.

So true. I still believe that a person is still more valuable than any pets. But I am not saying too that we should neglect our pets, what I am trying to tell here is we should take care of both and if we can't I think we should bring the pet to some organization that can take cares of them so that we can focus on our family. I love dogs and cats but I love my baby more than anything too. hahaha

I think everybody have been ignorant before. It's just a show anyway, so don't worry about it. Although I've been ignorant a number of times in my life. The worst thing about it is there are a lot of people getting angry at you already and you don't even know it. You'll only know it when they shove it to your face. This is one reason why I think communication is essential. If we don't talk to each other, the fault made will not be fixed.

I too am ignorant in so many things and I am not shy to admit that. Anyone is free to state their views or whatever. What I am telling here is just pure personal view. If for some reason people are angry at me it's totally beyond my control.

That is sad :(. That's what I'm talking about, buying vitamins and other well grooming stuff for pets rather that buying such stuff to their family.

Oh yes, that's too bad. A little joke and yet with the message. Though I wonder if you really see such kind ordinarily. I don't, usually having such wonderful dogs or with breeds mean that the person. Is well off a bit I mean she has money to sustain and maintain it. I mean in comparison with the son, she's well to do mother, it could be more possible that the son has his own nanny.

My goodness. That is not right at all. Perhaps she and her son do not have a good relationship - that would be sad. Perhaps he argues with her all the time, or back-chat. Perhaps she feels that he therefore do not deserve her attention. Her pet is loving and kind and does not give her grief??

The fact is... pets definitely don't argue with us no matter what we tell them. They instead play with us even if we shoo them away. But we should also think that we have more responsibility with our family. People are still more valuable than anything. :)

There are indeed some people who neglect the children while tooking so much care of the goggy.I do really love dogs but i think parents should spend more time with them and make them feel the warm of a family. This would influence the kid somehow.

I know a friend whom in the love of their dog would divide a small bread for her and her dog to eat because their is no food. She told me once that there was this one time when her daughter came and brought a doggy food (a left over kind of), she did not give it all to the dog she divide it again in two so that she can eat some as well. I have talked to her...a really serious one about why keeping the dog when they knew they can't sustain it. She just her shoulder on me. I also love dogs and cats, I actually have five dogs when I was young and loads of cats too. But the good thing about it is.. my family can feed the dog and me at the same time. hahahaha. Thanks for caring to drop a comment anyway.

It's really interesting. But actually i don't have time to care pets and i also don't have pets. But my elder sister is very careful regarding his "puppy"(name of dog). She gets busy caring to her puppy 24 hours. She does only this, nothing else.Seems abnormal, but it si true. She love her pets very much.

Yeah, having pets are really interesting, they also brought joy in their small special ways. I also have no time for them right now, specially that I have a one year old daughter. I also can't stand the smell. It's a good thing if there the owner could really take extra care of it and she also don't neglect other responsibilities.
