BHS Email Tells Me To Take Chandelier Into Local Store

A few minutes ago I finally received an email from BHS telling me to take the broken chandelier to our local store and I SHOULD receive a refund. I have been advised that it will probably be inspected but even if it is I have a good case as 1) I have my receipt and 2) I've managed to get the chandelier back in the box and taken all the droppers off it, so it looks like I've not even tried to put them on, just taken it out and seen the fault. We will take it back tomorrow and I shall keep you posted on developments. One thing's for sure; I shall insist on a refund as I don't want to buy any lighting from BHS at the moment. Currently, I'm researching online for chrome/glass versions instead. It's a tall order finding one for £60 but I don't easily give up!

I wish you everything goes as planned it will be something wrong and unplanned. Yet this is a chandelier and should not be angry because the new year is here and it's going to throw many trials. nice day!

I agree with you. This is exactly why I said It must be on the basis of mutual respect. The world moves ahead. We shouldn't judge a nation by what it used to be.The men had to wear a long pigtail during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.)in China. Now only on some TV series or films can we see that.

Sorry,I coppy and paste another response by mistake here. The response as follow:Good for you! It must be said the BHS did pay attention to the post-sale service. If you get the refund, you had better buy one made of robust glass.

I like it too. This pendant lamp is novel in design and that it was reduced from £149.00 to £54.45.

Have you got a John Lewis near where you are my friend? I have purchased a chandelier from John Lewis and have been extremely pleased with it, it's well made, you may pay a little extra but it's worth it. At least you got a response from BHS, I am sure you won't have any problem with getting a full refund. I shall look forward to a positive outcome on this one!

I did get my refund, thankfully and have seen a nice chandelier on the Debenhams website, made by Litecraft. I shall take a look in-store but I doubt there is a lighting section so I will have to order it online if that's the case. It's matt black with blue droplets and has had about £54 taken off it! I bought Mum (on her behalf) a microwave from the John Lewis website a couple of years ago. A pleasurable experience indeed. Neither Blackpool nor Carlisle has a John Lewis store, something I'm extremely unhappy about. I love the bloke with the glasses, the main guy who was featured in a series all about John Lewis. Can't remember his name but he's so upbeat it's untrue. I've never worked in retail but if John Lewis came to Town I'd BEG them for a job!

Don't forget to bring a print-out of that email with you when you return the light.

I didn't need it in the end. The lady just saw my receipt and that was it. She keyed in what was wrong with it on screen without looking in the box and I got my £60 back in cash. Happy days!

Yes, that is a tall order to find a chrome/glass version for that price. Maybe, there is a thrift shop in your area that handles some vintage stuff? Or, maybe, there is one to be found on eBay?

I have found a gorgeous matt black and blue droplet chandelier on the Debenhams website. We shall look in-store tomorrow as I'm not sure if they have a lighting section or not. I shall order it online if it's not there. The thing is reduced massively, some £54 or something.
