I am ready to toss this computer

I have nothing but problems since I bought this computer a few months ago. Futureshop will do nothing about it, I will never shop with them again. I was lying here, and got this giant shock, I mean my entire leg jolted from it, and pins and needles up my leg. I had plugged the cord from the wall, to the computer, and just once it hit it just sent off a shock. The computer has been acting weird freezing, and just being rather slow. I am hoping I get this new job, the first think I am buying is a good Toshiba from a better reality company that backs up their products.

I don't know why I thought you'd already gotten rid of it. That sounds like something I'd be demanding Future Shop to fix, or atleast take back and give you your money back. I know you've had it for too long to do that even if they would, but to shock you? Heck if you had a heart problem it could've killed you!

That's what I said, if I had some sort of health issues. I am hoping to get this new job, and the first thiing I will get is a new computer.

I would be emailing the company and sending in a complaint because no computer should be shocking you like that, now if someone had heart issues that would definitely not be a good thing. But yes I would agree get a Toshiba I have one and I have never had issues with it and I've had it for a year now.

I have bought Toshiba's and havent had an issue, but when I did the coompany fixed it no problem. Whereas this one nothing but problem, and I normally buy from Best Buy. This is the first time I bought from Futureshop.

Email the company. And try not to electrocute yourself.

I agree with the others. The company should replace your computer. You have to stay on them these days because they hope the more trouble they give you that you will give up and just get another one. If nothing else and you can't make them replace or repair your computer. I buy computers that need repairing so let me know before you get disgusted and just throw it away. You can get some cash for it.

I will never buy from this company again, I will stay with Toshiba which I have had many great endings with. The company is out to scam everyone, if I had issues with my old Toshiba they fixed it at no charge.

If the shop where you bought the computer from is not willing to do anything for you, then I would suggest that you get in touch with the manufacturer of the computer and let them know about the problems that you've been having with the computer. It might not do you any good, but it is certainly something that is worth a try. I would hate to think that you had thrown away money in the long run when you might not have had to have done that.

Try Ubuntu and see if its running fine. If it's isn't hardware problem you can reinstall OS and run it without problem.. Otherwise you can ask for refund for faulty quality.

if its hardware problem then you need to replace, there isn't a free way to do it unfortunately. ubuntu doesn't sell their os, it free of cost and you can download it without paying anything. don't go to their store were they sell t shirts. here is the direct link were you can download os. http://www.ubuntu.com/download

I checked their site out and all they were doing was trying to sell items not solve a problem. I don;t think it's a hardare internal problem, I think it's the actual computer. It was a lemon and waste of money. I refuse to buy from this company again be the computer company, and the store that sold it to me.

I agree with Barb, email the company. I have had lots of success with companies when I email head office. Not specifically with Future Shop but still, they want satisfied customers. Personally, I have bought all my computers at Staples and even had one replaced with a brand new one when a new one gave me problems. The customer service there is great.

You have only had it for a few months and its already causing problems like this I dont think thats good. I think the company should let you return it and refund your money. Was it brand new when you bought it or refurbished. I think what you should do as well is not put it on your legs put it on a table so it wont shock you when you use it.

Sounds like a faulty power adapter. You could take it into the nearest service centre and ask for the replacement since there wouldn't be any other issue with it(if you are getting shocked). There is no other piece of hardware in your laptop that would cause any shock other than the adapter. And I think you need to cleanup your computer to make it run normal.
