No, but we d have a lot of them in our country.. Sadly, there are many of them, and they are not even caught yet.. Because people tolerate them or they don't even care. I think it is very much unfair for people who really work hard for their money..

Hi Stanley, I believe that the management and the business owners will care. I mean, these ghost employees could be the reason for the company's failure.. Those who do not care either get profit from this as well or they simply just don't care thinking that it will not affect them..But in the long run, if the company shuts down, everyone is affected.

Hello asliah. I am interested to know the term of a ghost employee in English. Now I understand that a ghost employee is someone on the payroll who doesn't actually work for a victim company. Sometimes I hear on the radio about ghost employees in some government offices in our country and they are now discovered. The result is of course that they will be eliminated from the namelist of paycheck. I appreciate your informative discussion very much that I have learned a very useful term today--ghost employee. Thanks a lot.

Here in my country, ghost employees are usually having a better salary than normal employees, especially those in banks. Here many works can only be done well if you can have a godfather or having strong social relationship with Big Man. To many ordinary people, they can not have that, so they have to work all the time for their lives, while those born in upper class can own that easily, they can get money from their social network while need to do nothing for it.

I think that anyone who knows about this should have it reported. Coz if we tolerate such activities, you would surely be out of work soon coz of the company being bankrupt.

Some people might believe that there are some presences felt in a working place. I never had experience one, but I hope it will not happen. It could be the souls are not at peace yet. They are still roaming around and asking for prayers. It is weird to work with unexpected visitors.

Oh. Thats what a ghost employee means. Haha. I thought something else. Leave it. Actually, yeah I think these kind of employees work with government agencies. They can be anywhere, in police, or any kind of agencies.

Oh wow, that's really terrible! That company went bankrupt? It's a good thing it didn't close down then. I know of ghost employees in the public offices. Especially in the local government agencies. It's a pity because people's name exist there and they are paid and yet it goes to the politicians pocket and not to that specific person because no such person exist! And to think it's the people's taxes that pay for that. Oh i hate corruption in the Philippines.

Well, unfortunately I'm unemployed at the time, and therefore outside of the world of work. However, I do not know what constitutes, and especially that it is possible that your company pay double, if not triple, to ghost employees. However, I must admit that when I worked there were consultants, or it was already retired staff, who came to work as a boss, so in addition to their already recognized pension, the company acknowledged the extra salary.

All I know is Sales Agent is earning a lot because of their incentives. Having a double agent code and name has something to do with the HRAD, i guess. Negligence in their part. Well, if this really happens having a double code, I think it's just fine as long as that certain name do his task and reached the quota or else he will be terminated. I really wonder how this happen. Do they have different ID's? How they log-in? Ghost employees normally happens in the government for the officials to earn more.

Hi asliah! Your HR and Payroll department should be calibrated at all times. This must be hard if your company is a big company and has many branches. But still, the company will lose so much if these ghost employees continue to "exist". I haven't heard anything from the companies that I worked for having this issue. Hope you will not get affected by this scam.

This thing happens because we are not doing something about it. Particularly in government agencies, wherein the money use to pay ghost employees are money of the people. We should be vigilant and report if we know something about it. Have a nice day!

Whoa, this is the first time I ever heard that. But if you think about it, it's possible for company to pay for employee who is not exist actually. Of course it will mean this like some kind of corruption. Will very much put the company in disadvantages. I don't know if my company I ever worked has a ghost employee but if this kind of thing happen, it will mean the human resources department have something to do with this too, in my opinion. Because it's their responsibility to pay attention to the names of employee the company has.
