hi friends. at the innings break, someone wrote that its upto the pakistan batsmen can make this match a thriller. they sure did. after hafeez got out,i changed the channel and guess what i saw the next morning. Dhoni got man of the match for his 36 runs and his brilliant captaincy. That begged the question that everyone want answer to. does MS Dhoni has split personality? lol.just kidding. he was dismissed just once in this series i believe and people are already comparing him to the sachin of the last 90's. you know the guy who got back to back century at sharjah against australia, when he gets out the opposition believe half the battle is won while more than half of the indian population turned off the tv? yeah him. it took just 2 innings and changed the perspective altogether. Dhoni went from the guy who captained the team which lost 8 tests in a row, lost hom series against england after 20 odd years, with people questioning his future in test squad already to the one man army who had the weakest batting and bowling line-up,without whom the team would not even manage to post 100 runs, the sole survivor who holds india's pride, blah blah blah. you get it. is the indian public so easily appeased? you fail for 20 odd innings and one 2 back to back good knocks is enough to change you from zero to hero? as for his captaincy, for all we know he might have kept that short fine leg to stop another wide ball he might miss to collect cleanly again or he might be a very clever captain. just to sum it up,when the team lose a match, its because the batsmen did not spply themselves while batting, the bowlers failed to read the condition and did not bowl according to the field but when the team wins, its just clever captaincy? does the above statement sounds hypocritic? another question. when does a 36 runs winner gets man of match award while a 5 wicket haul bowler misses out? because he took the tail-enders wicket? whats next remove every hundred made by batsmen against minnow team and take away all tail-ender wickets from the bowlers overall tally? last question and probably the most important one. which of the below statement is true? a:indian bowlers won the match for india. b:pakistan batsmen lost the match for pakistan. happy mylotting.

Hi stardust, Well I am going to answer your discussion only on the heading as I can not read all the discussion. Well Dhooni has been in form and had scored heighest in that low scoring match. So he rightly deserved the man of match. I do not think he did something great in captaincy and it is clear that being captain in all 3 forms of game is showing on him.

I fully agree with you that this discussion is too long to read. But thats where i stop agreeing with you asweetie. This is because I feel that MS Dhooni didnt deserve to win Man of match award. He won because India won otherwise a bowler taking 5 wickets wont get MOM award but a person who made 36 got it.. I just dont understand it.

Dhoni was actually batted well in this series. Especially in the first ODI. He batted well under the pressure and scored a century. Unfortunately India lost the match. Also he played well in the last match too. He has scored just 36, but he performed well in overall.
