My kid's classes started last January 3,2013.. starting that day i woke them up at 5 in the morning. This is to avoid the traffic and so we won't have to rush and they won't get late. I thought after this, they would complain, i was really expecting the worst. But after that one day.. my 5 year old told me.. that i must wake him up the next day and take note he said.."wake me up where this is little night" lol i thought huh? what he meant was at DAWN hahahaha.. at 5am it is still dark here and so it seems like night time for him..and he likes it. He said it is nice because it is quiet! hahaha! My daughter also did not complain... and after a few days of like this, i thought they would complain again, but then they did not, this morning they still woke up at exactly 5 am - without me waking them up! amazing! they were even the ones who got up, fixed the bed and went to the kitchen for breakfast and then took a bath ( i ran the hot bath for them so they won't get cold) and they changed uniforms and waited for me and hubby to finish as well.. i soooo much like it because i soooo like the not rushing part, i get to prepare the food well without fuss.. lol and we get to go to work and school early too! My daughter and son are happy because they got the most punctual award for the week hhaha.. and my daughter said she was praised by the teacher too! so nice huh? i am glad too and my son went home carrying ribbons last night that said very good and he said he got it for being punctual and answering right. It is rewarding because me disciplining them to get up early and it is bearing fruit lol..

That's very nice to hear jazel and i can sense some pride in you. It only means that you are a very good parent and model to your children. In addition, because you constantly wake them up at 5 am, they now are accustomed to that time, so that their bio-clock wakes them up at 5 am. They themselves are proud because of the praises and ribbons they get from being punctual. It means to say, you will not be bothered at all anymore in waking them up early, because they themselves would now continue getting on of the most punctual awards. I salute you jazel.

hi jazel_juan. my daughter wakes up at 5am to prepare for her 7am class. her school service picks her up between 6am to 6:15am. anyway, back then, it was a challenge getting my daughter up and about but since we've been sleeping earlier now, it has been a breeze in the morning. as for me, my shift starts at 6am so i'm up at 4am to prepare for work. i also try to get in some face time with my daughter before i leave for work. anyway, grats on the rewards that your children got. they rightfully deserve it and you are a big reason they got those rewards. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

I wake up my kids at 5am as well. I wake up at 4am to prepare their breakfast and packed lunch. Well, after the 2 week vacation, my kids have difficulty waking up again that early coz during the Christmas break, they would be sleeping very late at night and wake up at 10 or even 11am.

Kids get that feeling. It's a good thing they're acquainted with the dawn (?) As children you should pretty much explore whatever can be explored, these are your formative years. Teach them things that are different about this time of day, be creative and make it fun. Things in school they're hyped up about, don't lose this sensation among them. Grab it by the sunshine and make sure to have more days like this. Tell them to make the most of their lives, to have fun while young, and to appreciate the stillness of the morning.

it is kind of hard but if we get used to it in the long run and i am sure the fuss would evaporate and we can be able to manage it with ease for sure

I am glad your training to your kids finally work, and they knew how important to be punctual, or be on time. I have to get up around 5:00 A.M. in the morning, no exception, because I work at the first shift, and I want to avoid rush hour during the morning time and the afternoon time too. So, I have been doing like this for over 5 years already. Tell your kids to keep it up, and it is really a good habit.

It's hard to wake up early if you're not used to it but it's very rewarding on the other side. I used to work in early schedule and it's great to wake up early to avoid rush hour. You might have woke up in good vibes and scattered it to everyone that's why no one is complaining. It's very good to start a morning like this so keep it up.
